Please be advised that it is approximately 45mins to an hour to the entrance of the access rd, from either Milton, the beginning of Wheelbarrow rd or Monkey Mountain rd. It is also roughly the same coming via Western Distributor from Kings Highway Once on these roads a vast part of your drive will be on dirt, and may be a little testing in wet weather, however you will discover some much natural beauty when you arrive at your destination
Please also note that there is no reception in this area, the closest place for phone reception is at Pigeon House Mountain. In the event of any emergency the caretaker does have STARLINK to assist with contacting medical authorities or family.

There is so much to see and do. Climb Pigeon House Mountain or cruise on the Merinda up the Nelligen River over a seafood lunch...you will not be disappointed.
Upon arrival, you will be able to choose a spot on the property that you wish to set up. All campers must be self-contained, with their own camp toilet and take all waste when they go. Strictly no 'digging a hole.'
When booking please note that one site is big enough for your van or tent, the extras button is for extra guest/children in your tent or van.

To the West there are hundreds of kilometres of Forestry and National Park roads through some of the most spectacular forested mountain country east of the Coastal Range.

If you are as intrigued by rare animals as we are, then this is the place for you. 63 Bird species, 24 mammals, 16 reptiles, and 12 amphibians have been sighted in the area (Clarke 2012) and this includes many rare and endangered species including the platypus, brush-tailed rock wallaby, Giant burrowing frog, Gang-gang cockatoo, Glossy black-cockatoo, Koala, Little Lorikeet and the Yellow-bellied glider.
We only have three campsites at present, so you will be guaranteed peace, space and privacy. with a minimum of 400m between all sites. Please note, that your group must be self-contained, with their own camp toilet, however fresh drinking water is available.
Access is into a valley on a well maintained unsealed road but there are some minor causeways making it unsuitable for busses or long low slung vans. An ordinary sedan will do for Billabong and Dad's camp sites but you will need some power for towing and a 4x4 to tow out in any rain. Riverbend site is only suitable for 4x4's and off-road camp trailers.

At Tomboye Nature Camp you can immerse yourself in a beautiful natural environment. With only one campsite available you will have plenty of space and privacy.
You can enjoy a number or great activities on the property and in the surrounding area, including horse riding, bushwalking, wildlife watching and 4x4 driving. There is a lovely creek that flows through the property as well.
We are within reach of Canberra, Braidwood, Nowra and Golburn and only 20 mins from the beautiful Shoalhaven River.
Campers are required to be self sufficient with their own toilet/shower facilities and take all waste and rubbish with them on departure.
Campfires are welcome but please ensure they are kept contained and are completely out before leaving unattended.

Wombat Flats is made up of private paddocks with dams.
Wooded but with cleared area.. 2wd vehicle access. 4x4 access to mulloon creek with large open space
Land was Virgin bushland but burnt in fires in 2019. Come and see the amazing regeneration! The property is now heavily wooded and overgrown so no marked trail but are happy for you to walk and explore and find hidden natural treasures. This part of the property is being used a nature corridor for wildlife hance the untouched grounds. Lots of rock formation and quartz for you geo type to find and study.
3 dams for swimming and amazing scenery.
Need to be self sufficient, We live on the property so we are happy help and make your stay enjoyable.
Good mobile reception
Bungendore is 20 min away. Canberra is an easy commute.
We own the land and live in main house (stock standard mum dad and a couple of kids)

The accommodation is in a funky converted bus with a double bedroom , kitchenette and lounge area with reading nooks overlooking the country views
There is also a Rustic Glam kitchen and bathroom with deck, outdoor setting and fire pit nearby. The seperate composting toilet is set to enjoy the mountain views.
Our outdoor bath is a real treat and popular for a champagne breakfast or sunset pamper session

Perfect location, loved staying on this property. We enjoyed daily swims in the river, the site was private and well maintained with camping neighbours nowhere near our site.
Vallance and his family were so very friendly and hospitable and we will come back many a time in the future.
Plenty of morning and afternoon shade at the site and because it's a new site there is a huge amount of firewood for campers to utilise.
Nothing negative to say.
Dream camping trip over new years, peaceful, with a mega bonfire put on for guests to celebrate the new year.
Park and trampoline were perfect for kids.

3 nights at The Wandy Donkey Camp
We had a wonderful time at the bush cabin. It was clean, well-equipped, private and in a relaxing setting with an outlook of beautiful gumtrees. Kate was very welcoming and went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable stay. We were able to feed and pat some of the farm animals too. We loved the donkeys, they were very friendly. A great experience overall, we are really happy we found this spot. Thank you Kate!

Beautiful, peaceful property in a wonderful location with abundant birdlife. Easy check in and great communication. Despite staying around Christmas/New Year, we had a lovely private spot. Highly recommend!

I spent New Year’s Eve in the Barn Room with my dog to escape the fireworks and chaos in my beachside town. It was perfect!
The massive paddock was well fenced and mowed and my dog loved running around with Jacqui’s two dogs. Such peace of mind knowing my dog could amuse herself and run free.
Jacqui was incredibly helpful and hospitable.
The facilities were great and I loved the rustic wooden bathhouse. Great to have wifi access and Telstra signal isn’t great, especially during peak holiday time. The sunset was spectacular and it was incredibly quiet. A beautiful peaceful place.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Platypus Plateau. The kids had a ball in the swimming holes along the river. Being surrounded by wildlife and the large camping sites were the highlights. It was lovely to meet Julie too.
