The Peach Farm

17 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents55 acres · Mororo, NSW
Relax or get involved at The Peachy; an iconic, eco friendly, off-grid animal rescue farm... privately owned and publicly loved! We feed the farm animals and collect the eggs every morning at 8am so set your alarm and join in the fun. Gypsy, your onsite hostess with the mostest, will take you on a fun-filled journey where everyone learns something! The dam is back in action after the drought and then an invasive weed taking over. There are kayaks here and they are free for everyone to enjoy. There is a nature playground for the kids, an outdoor bathtub (book with us after you have booked your site $45 or book as a 'camp site'), wood-fired pizza oven (book in the 'extras') and a well equiped community kitchen. The Peach Farm is centrally located within a 20 minute drive to close by attractions. Adventure; 4 wheel drive at Shark Bay. Swim; Iluka's famous beaches. Walk; Iluka Heritage Rainforest, from the lush rainforest to the amazing views at The Bluff. Explore; Yamba, Angourie, the Scottish town of Maclean. Our eccentric affectionate mix of farm animals will win you over in seconds especially if you grab some feed from your hosts. All of our loving animals have been rescued as a tiny baby or taken in when their owners could no longer care for them. Each site has a picnic table and a fire-pit and you can book a camp oven package if you would like to engage in some outdoor cooking. It's fun, relaxing and nothing beats a camp oven stew! Our community kitchen is a hub for get togethers and yarns, well equipped with a gas cooktop, toaster, kettle, cooking utensils, a BBQ, fridge/freezer, and plenty of tables. There are fresh herbs and eggs when in plentiful supply. Please use the worm bin for all your kitchen scraps. We have an amazing composting loo but no showers yet. We are pet friendly however we do ask that you have your best friends on a leash AT ALL TIMES and please do not get too close to the alpacas, they are protectors and will become uneasy and distressed. We strongly believe in 'leaving no trace' so please be mindful of our animals, other happy campers and 'take only memories leave only footprints'. “The peach from can only be accessed heading north on the highway. If coming from the North take the Iluka exit and then just loop back to head north - 1.5km turn off is on the left straight off the Highway!"

Mororo Primitive Bush Camp

1 site · RV, Tent160 acres · Mororo, NSW
Once of the highway driving to the campsite you be surrounded by dense bushland. On arrival at the camp sight it'll be just you and the bush. You'll have a small clearing with a shelter surrounded by dense bushland where you can have a camp fire, in complete privacy due to having only one camp-site on the farm so you don't have to worry about others. You will hear native birds and possibly see native fauna. You will hear some slight road noise from the A1 Pacific highway due to the proximity but this noise is drowned out by the native birds and dense bushland. The camp sight is dog friendly and we allow you to bring your horses, dirt bikes and mountain bikes to explore the vast surrounding bushland and go riding on local tracks. (riding is not to be conducted within the property itself) You can also go Bush walking and we also recommend you bring a good quality spotlight so you can go spotlighting looking for native fauna that come out during the night. The property is not to far from a local 4wd access beach if your into beach fishing or sand driving there is also multiple Boat ramps nearing the property to launch boats into the Clarence River. This is also a primitive self sufficient campsite. We can supply firewood at an additional cost (wheel barrow size only) just contact us to arrange.(strictly no cutting of timber or firwood on the property includes fallen trees/logs or standing trees.) Mosquito repellent and citronella candles highly recommended during mosquito season. Please don't burn rubbish or non flammable materials in fire pits. 1 site · RV, Tent100 acres · Taloumbi, NSW
The Groundswell Guest Camp would love to welcome you to enjoy an exclusive camp in a tranquil unique natural bush setting, ideal for families, bird watching naturalist and artist. The camp is located on 100 acres of unique grasstree forest in Taloumbi, NSW. We are just 10 minutes off the Pacific Highway, between Maclean and Brooms Head. The camp is currently set up for private use for one booking, where the guest booking can park at the covered deck space and have use of the deck, shower and toilet for just themselves. The deck is a great spot to enjoy the rising sun, yoga and meditation. Hooks are attached to the post for hammocks, so please relax and enjoy your time at Groundswell. The site is also great for bigger groups but we have not set up the booking platform that way so it gives the option to most parties to have the site to themselves. Groups are welcome. Please contact the host for group bookings of up to 3 cars. This could be organized where the deck area is a communal space and the shower and toilet are shared by the group. All campsites are flat and some cleared play spaces available for kicking balls, games, frisbee, etc. There is a sink with filtered rain water on the deck, an instant gas hot water shower behind the main deck and also a compost toilet. There is a small solar power set up to run the sink and shower pump. The site in OFF-GRID on tank water only, so it is important to be mindful of water use and make sure taps are off when not in use. In consideration of future guest do not wash your motor home or caravan with the tank water, or refill your tanks as this site is rainwater only. Bring your own cooker, lights and chairs. Pets are welcome, but must be on a leash if guest are away or if they are a threat to wildlife. There are families of kangaroos, wallabies and endangered coastal emu’s that we love and would like to keep safe. We are very lucky to have the emus here and provide information as citizen scientist to those researching them. If you fancy spotlighting in the evening, you may see sugar gliders, micro bats, possums, bandicoots, and owls on the prowl. There is a small orchard next to the camp site and you can help yourself to any ripe fruits. We continue to work on permaculture projects and improve the sites design with a good vision for the future of the Groundswell Project. You can swim in the dam when full. It’s currently a bit low with summer evaporation and low rainfall. Enjoy a meditation or sunset drink over looking the dam and admiring the wildlife that also use the watering hole. Fires are allowed, except during total fire bans, in the contained pits only and put out at night. There is plenty of firewood to collect on site. Mosquitos come and go depending on weather or season. It is good to be prepared with coils, nets on your bed or sprays just in case. Access the camp at the front gate (address provided at booking) and follow the sign to the Hipcamp. Access is 2wd accessible and good for caravans, or larger RV’s etc. The Spa at Groundswell is now open at the owners home. Please contact the host for massage and magnesium bath menu. We are currently working on a network of trails inside of the 100 acres. Until complete, parts of the perimeter of the property are cleared and can be walked from Grasstree Drive to Wallaby Lane. A map will be provided at the camp. Please take all of your rubbish and recycling. There is a waste station in Townsend on the way back to the highway or at the Yuraygir National Park if staying there after us. Phone service is best with Telstra. High chair available by request. Our nearest beaches are also just 5-10 minutes at the Yuraygir National Park, Lake Aragon/ Redcliff Campground entrance and the beautiful quiet beach town of Brooms Head. Fishing, boating, spear fishing, surfing, diving, snorkeling, kayaking, kite surfing, motor bike trails (Candole State Forest), coastal walks, beach walks, etc. The Yuraygir coastal walk spans 65 km’s from Angourie in Yamba, to Red Rock. For a one night camp on the trailing walking north, you can camp and the pristine beaches at Shelley’s. And if leaving from Lake Aragon or Brooms Head, the next camp south is at The Sandon.
