How many state parks do you know that have a popular rock song named after them? To the best of our knowledge not many (although there should definitely be more!). A mid 90’s hit by the Toadies pays homage to this 1,530-acre north Texas marvel, located in the Brazos River Valley and tucked among the Palo Pinto Mountains on the shores of the expansive, 20,000-acre Possum Kingdom Lake. With so much aqua real-estate, this park is great for a myriad of lake activities including swimming, fishing, skiing, scuba diving, snorkeling, rowboating, inner-tubing, wakeboarding, kneeboarding and more! Back on the park’s solid soil hiking, biking, picnicking and camping are also offered. Come check out and see for yourself the wonders that make this park a song-worthy sight to see!
