Alfred A. Loeb State Park
Enjoy a nature hike set amidst fragrant myrtlewood forest!
Breath in the scent of the fragrant Myrtlewood trees as soon as you arrive. The Alfred A. Loeb State Park sits amidst a forest of Myrtlewood trees, some more than 200 years old.
On the southeast edge of the park, the Chetco River offers prime fishing spots. You can fish from the banks or use a drift boat. Swimming and rafting are options for cooling off in the heat.
In the fall and winter, salmon and steelhead fishing is at its prime. Meander along the self-guided Riverview nature trail. You might catch sight of an osprey or a family of river otters.
Bring your tent and choose one of the 48 electrical sites with water. Some are semi-private sites with vegetative visual barriers. Up your camping game by selecting one of the three, one of which allows dogs.
