Declared the “Cape Cod of the Midwest”, Tawas Point State Park looks like it took a page out of the Cod’s “how to be freakin’ awesome” book, Victorian lighthouse and all. Situated on a 183 acre peninsula between Lake Huron and the Tawas Bay, you’ll find this place's warm, shallow water to be all kinds of swimmable. If you’ve got a sail boat, you’re going to want to bring it here! The winds and protected waters make it one the most supreme places in the country to set sail. To complete your day on the water try your hand at fishing the bay’s reef. Want to stay the night? You have two options: camping or cabins. The prospect sure is sweet!
