Formed from the completion of the Pine Flat Dam, Pine Flat Lake spans 20 miles in length with 67 miles of shoreline where oak and pine high-five in the foothills of the Central Sierra Nevadas. At full capacity, this lake can hold one million-acres (said in Dr. Evil voice) of water for recreational opportunities like boating, jet skiing and fishing for bass and rainbow trout.

Wildlife paparazzi should know the area is home to bobcat and red-tailed hawks, but please do remember to respect their personal space. Families can give their kids a great intro to camping here with a playground, volleyball court, horseshoes and completely manageable quarter-mile Blue Oak Interpretative Trail that won’t take up too much time for anyone to get hangry.
