Discover the charm of Riddle Hill Homestead, a peaceful retreat tucked into 24 acres in the heart of the Smith River Valley in Grafton, New Hampshire. Our property is bordered by the Smith River and Manfeltree Brook, with campsites scattered throughout the woods, meadow, and marshy edges of the land. Whether you prefer open skies, tree cover, or a quieter tucked-away spot, there’s a little something for every camping style. Riddle Hill is a small family-run homestead centered around simple comforts, creativity, and slowing down a bit. Our roadside Cookie Shop offers giant fresh baked cookies, cold drinks, novelty ice creams, local products, and farm fresh eggs from our flock of hens, with the occasional crow from Mister the rooster throughout the day. One of our favorite summer traditions is our free Friday Night Movie Nights. Campers are welcome to bring a chair or blanket, grab cookies, popcorn, donuts, or fresh-squeezed lemonade, and spend the evening watching a family-friendly movie under the stars. Many movie nights also include a small community market, free kids activities, and a chance to meet neighbors and visitors from around the area. Our small honor-system camp store carries a handful of camping basics and forgotten essentials. On many weekends, you may also find local artists, handmade goods, demonstrations, or seasonal community activities happening around the property. The Craft Cottage at Riddle Hill Homestead is our cozy creative studio space where we host workshops, open studio time, and occasional demonstrations. If timing lines up, you may even catch Michelle working on glass lampwork beads or another project in progress. The town beach and Northern Rail Trail are a short walk away, and hiking, lakes, mountain views, and Ruggles Mine are all nearby. Whether you're here for a quiet campsite, a creative weekend, a fresh baked cookie, or a movie under the stars, we're glad you found us and hope Riddle Hill Homestead feels like the kind of place you'll want to come back to.

It comfortably fits two small tents—ideal for friends or family. **Amenities** We offer shared amenities, including: - Picnic tables - Waterfront fire ring - **Eco-Friendly Toilet**: A carry-out camp toilet. **Cooling Off** Enjoy cooling off in the shallow brook running through our property. Wade or splash in the refreshingly cold water on a summer day. ***we are currently having an unusually dry summer and the brook is extremely low*** **Exploring Nature** With over 20 acres to roam, our land borders the Smith River and Manfeltree Brook with a beautiful marsh (bring boots) —great for wildlife watching. The meadow is perfect for stargazing on clear nights. **Nearby Lakes and Adventures** The Grafton town Beach, Huff Beach, is at the other end of Davis Rd, about 1/2 mile from us if you want something more than our small brook to cool off in. If you love lakes, we have three nearby for kayaking or canoeing, with many spots easy to access. For added adventure, visit Mt. Cardigan or Ragged Mountain, both a short drive away, or explore Ruggles Mine, just 2.4 miles from us. **On-Site Shop** Don’t miss our small on-site shop, featuring fresh-baked cookies, farm-fresh eggs, and locally made gifts. On weather-permitting Saturdays, browse handmade goods from local crafters. Speaking of farm fresh eggs, *** you will hear our chickens earning their keep and laying eggs throughout the day. *** **Experience Nature** Our campsite is perfect for bikers, campers, or those passing through on the Northern Rail Trail. Whether you stay for a night, a weekend, or longer, your outdoor adventure awaits!

Brookside Camping at The Point

Tent site · Sleeps 4
This site is our favorite spot on the entire property. We debated for quite awhile on whether or not to share this spot with campers. This spot is surrounded on 3 sides by our little brook. Even when the brook gets low late in the summertime, you will fall asleep to water bubbling over the rocks. The site includes a table and chairs, large waterfront fire pit and even a few singing hammock style chairs. In this section of the yard we do NOT own both side of the brook, so we ask that you stay on our side of the brook.
