in Bright Star Campground, ColoradoI have stayed at Camp Kush at least 3 separate times now if that explains any of my opinion about Jen and her establishment. Itâs been my favorite finding on Hipcamp thus far (and Iâve been to at least 8 different campgrounds). Itâs super chill, everyone is always extremely nice, and there is just about anything and everything youâll need for a great trip. Not to mention the sunsets⌠the sunsets are EVERYTHING! I would 10/10 recommend Camp Kush to anyone wanting a quiet getaway.

Mil Abrazos Campground
in Mil Abrazos (a thousand hugs), New MexicoAs a first time, solo, female traveler I could not have been more pleased with this campground. I didnât read much about the spot before booking as I intended on only staying one night before heading off to the next spot. Well, I ended up staying around 5 nights. The hosts were absolutely wonderful and very informative. Throughout my stay, any one of the four dogs on site were by my side (probably bc I gave them treats) which made me feel extremely safe. The site is pretty primitive, but had all of the essentials youâd need... running water, an outdoor shower, an outhouse, fire/gathering area, and more. I spent two whole days of my trip at the river which is about a mile walk down the property and it was stunning. The hostsâ home was close enough if I needed anything (about a 5 min walk max), but far enough away from the campsite to ensure privacy. I even stopped in for one night on my way back home even though it was slightly out of the way. I cannot recommend this place enough, seriously. Itâs great as just a stopping point for one night, but even better if you have the time to actually stay a few days to explore. Best Hipcamp experience thus far.
