Past trip
in Moon Ridge, CaliforniaMy BF and I have used Hipcamp pretty regularly but in regards to hospitality this site takes the cake! Gerry was super communicative prior to the trip in regards to making sure the site was what I wanted. Upon arrival, they were super welcoming and let us use their e bikes to scout out our site (My bf hasnât stopped talking about them) , gave us the best homemade goods, as well as offered to help to get us situated in the site.
The property itself is super clean and nice to walk around with your morning coffee.
Overall would highly recommend this site for those needing a quick get away from San Diego!

SD Mountain Escape Shelters
in San Diego Mountain Escape, CaliforniaThis land is absolutely beautiful and absolutely helped create a memorable birthday trip!
The land has amazing views and for being a fairly big space very clean.
I was personally very into all the wildflowers they had different colored clusters everywhere and took a swim in the pond on the property.
The host was SUPER responsive both prior to booking and on the trip anytime I had a question! Highly recommend
Past trip
Palms to Pines: Camp & BBQ + Pie!
in Sugarloaf Campground + BBQ, CaliforniaMarley M.has mixed feelings towards this listing.
(Dispersed site)
Pros:
-Any person staff wise we came in contact was so so friendly!
-The coconut pie was what dreams are made of â¤ď¸
-The hikes the property easily feeds to are great! We did both listed on the site and had a great time. The springs were flowing and made for incredible views.
-For being a high trafficked area the cleanliness was truly impressive. Both at the cafe and the grounds
Cons:
- I really felt that the idea of seclusion was promoted and didnât deliver. On arrival I wasnât happy with the proximity to the highway at all but it was quiet and the hiking seemed to make up for it. But coming back Saturday after a long hike I was immediately upset. The market/cafe is much busier so about twenty people were surrounding our camp from above making changing a lot less comfortable (Direct line of sight with virtually no distance) One table was blasting music right above us definitely hurting the experience of peace and isolation. There were also multiple groups of people venturing out for walks right through the site making me even less comfortable privacy wise
Past trip
Site 11 - Desert Rose Campsites
in Desert Rose Collective, CaliforniaPros:
-Hosts are super friendly and really go out of their way to make sure you have the best experience possible.
- Their spaces are graded/leveled well making Van life a little easier.
-Communal areas are well set up would be a great site for a group!
Only con was not quite as secluded as I ideally like to feel on my camping excursions as youâre surrounded by neighboring properties in eye view. Itâs a hard factor to gauge based on photos
Marley hasn't gone on any trips yet.
Hipcamp Hosts can leave an optional review of their Hipcampers after the trip is completed. This is where those reviews from Hipcamp Hosts will appear.
