Intro: Just a girl and her dog. Occasionally a friend, or my two kids, join the fun. I like to get out and explore as often as possible, but that's usually only a night or two each summer.

Camp Eldorado | Gunnison River
in Camp Eldorado, ColoradoCalm, peaceful, relaxing retreat
This was a perfectly peaceful and safe spot for a girl to solo camp with her dog. The sound of the river was so soothing, and I was able to put my tent close enough to enjoy the sites and sounds. I wasn't able to enjoy a campfire (it got cold the night I was there) because I didn't want to disturb the couple camping in the other site - there is just one metal fire pit to share between the two sites. It's so rare to even find a campsite that allows fires in Colorado - so that really wasn't a deal-breaker for me. Yes, there are houses nearby and a large campground across the street, but if you get close enough to the river, in the tall grass & near the trees, you will feel like it's your own little world.

in Rocky Mtn PikesPk Hikin'nBiking, ColoradoI almost don't want to write a review because I don't want anyone else knowing how amazing this place is... ;) It was everything I was looking for and even more. Keli was amazing from the start by taking the time to chat with me on the phone. This is a very remote piece of Heaven and very hard to find, but so worth the treasure hunt. I stayed alone the entire time and felt extremely safe and comfortable. Definitely bring enough food and water because you will not want to leave and there are no facilities nearby anyway. I will be back for another siesta hopefully one day soon!! Thank you, Keli!
Garfield Creek Site
in White Owl Ranch, ColoradoGreat spot for exploring the Glenwood Springs area! The barn and bathrooms were super clean. Plenty of space to roam. Gas fire pit and gas grill -- definitely helps with the camping vibe during a fire ban.
