Past trips
Casa de Cazadores
in Maybe Later Ranch., TexasWe had a great time here. The host is definitely not exaggerating when he calls the view of the night sky âjaw dropping.â When the moon set, the stars came alive! We spent the day trekking around Big Bend National Park, so we were excited to be staying only 30 minutes from the front gate of the park. The directions to the campsite, and Google Maps link worked perfectly, so we had no issues finding the place. We hope weâll get to return to Casa de Cazadores very soon!
I offer the following as helpful info for future campers, and not as a critique of the place:
It might be a good idea to bring a portable car battery charger. We had zero cell phone coverage (which is a plus in our book), but I spent a lot of time double and triple checking the dome lights in the car to make sure we didnât get stuck (we didnât, but not for my kidsâ lack of trying).
The ground is very rocky, so if youâre planning on pitching a tent, bring a stake mallet (although the lumber by the fire pit worked well in a pinch).
