Yurt with Farm Views
in Glamping Yurt on a Farm, ConnecticutTruly one of the nicest little escapes from NYC we've had. Driving through this corner of Connecticut we were pleasantly surprised at how beautiful the whole area was. The farm was easy to find, and the Finnegans met us and showed us to the yurt. You are in the middle of the farm, but it feels very private. The inside of the yurt is simple, but beautiful. The bed is very comfortable, and there is a small seating area with books and information about the area. They left firewood and we cooked over the fire. In the morning they showed us around the farm, introduced us to the animals, and we sat and had coffee and talked for awhile. Truly nice people, and a really beautiful piece of land. We will definitely try and make it back here.
Field of Dreams
in Secluded Farm Camp with Views, New YorkTanyth wasn't around, but she gave us the number of the farmer that was, and the directions were easy to follow. The site is down the path from the houses, and easy to access. There are three seperate sites, all situated in a field of wildflowers, along a creek. There was a little noise from a neighboring property, but once it started to get dark, the natural sounds drowned that out. There is a really great called The Spy, and several small grocery stores / farm stands very close. Only there for one night, but really enjoyed our stay.
