About Sand Creek Farm
Sand Creek Farm is an operational sustainable farm. We are centrally located to Bryan/College Station - Temple/Belton - Waco. Austin is about 1 hr and 45 min away. Within 30 min of the farm you will find Walker Honey in Rogers, TX for wine and mead tasting; 15 min to Calvert fine dining at Coco Modo's and lots of neat stores for shopping; and on the farm you will find .... quiet.
Camping can be done anywhere on our 170 acres as it suits you. The back of the farm is so quiet and peaceful, surrounded by nothing but 2,500 additional acres of nature - not a house in sight. On the back of the farm you are about a mile off of the road, there are gullies to explore, ponds, wild fruits at different times of the year, wildlife, varied terrain and foliage.
There are cottages on the farm for rent close to the dairy, $85 per night + a $35 cleaning fee per stay (that must be paid in person). The cottages are on a separated offering or email us for more information. Private tours of the farm are $50/hr/person. Milking the cows starts at 6:30 a.m. and finishes about 9:30 a.m. and is $55 per day to participate.
You will see that the farm is shaped like and "L", all creature comforts, like an outhouse and running water, are on the front 100 acres, the back is completely untouched by human amenities. So, plan to fill up your water jugs prior to heading off to the back of the farm. You may cook and use the bathroom on the back of the farm as long as you clean up after yourself and observe all state safety laws concerning fires. It is your responsibility to check if the county is in a burn ban or not and act responsibly.
Within 5 miles of the farm is an entrance to the Brazos river for fishing, swimming or canoeing. You are also welcome to bring a equine and ride, be sure it tethers or you bring a portable corral - the last 40 acres can be closed off so if your equine get's loose, you will only have 40 acres in which to chase it :)>.
Please provide a coggins report for each equine from within the last 6 months and a copy of your vaccination schedule as given to each equine.

Though South Texas is not known for its camping, Sand Creek Farm may just put it on the map. This wide open space is home to a dairy farm, a few fruit and veggie bearing greenhouses, and two of the nicest Texas farmers you'll shake hands with and has acres upon acres of tent-able real estate. If roughing it isn't really your speed, the Family Cottage is the place for you. This cozy little farm house sleeps four and has all the amenities you need for an off the grid weekend retreat.
It was a blast staying at Sand Creek Farm! I like the type of camping where you can escape from the world and have a piece of land all to yourself. Sand Creek is perfect for finding a secluded spot to spend a few nights. They also have cabins if you are looking for something more accessible and want to get away from the heat in an airconditioned room! The whole family is really sweet and helpful. An overall incredible experience.
It was great, we stayed at the back of the property at the watering hole with our two 5 month old dogs. Very quiet and couldn't even see a house or structures where we were located. Horse came and greeted us when we entered the area. Lots of fun!
Sand Creek Farm is the best place to stay in Texas to see the way of life of an organic farm.

The land are beautifull, and you can enjoy their wonderfull products!
Although I stayed only one night on this Farm I really loved it. Like Matt I also like this type of camping where you can leave the world behind and just be by yourself for some time! And this Farm is perfect for this...
Make sure you check the surrounding for ants before putting up your tent! ;-)
