Nestled among five acres of tree-covered hill country, overlooking the Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge, Moonbeam the Airstream on Round Mountain Ranch is a perfect retreat for couples, friends and nature lovers.

Wake up to the soothing sounds of nature and cook waffles in the fully stocked kitchen (recipes, a waffle iron, coffee maker, microwave, spices and much more are included). Wander the many trails on the property or head to Lake Travis, only an 15 minute drive away for boating, hiking and sightseeing. Upon your return, string a hammock in the trees just off the front deck and enjoy an afternoon siesta. Grill dinner on the adjacent charcoal grill and dine alfresco. In the evenings, stroll down to the communal fire pit that overlooks the vernal pond and toast s’mores while gazing at the stars.

Our lovingly refurbished 2004 Airstream’s original interior was designed by Christopher Deam, and was one of the first "International CCD" designs. This line was the first to embrace the “space-age” aesthetic on the inside and we’ve respected his vision while adding a few of our own “bohemian" flourishes. The camper can sleep two together in the full sized bed or separately (the dining space converts to a separate bed). Its compact yet bright and airy with lots of counter space for cooking, dining, playing board games and writing your novel. There’s even a separate desk for additional counter space.

Bring cds or dvds for the upgraded sound system and television. Air conditioning and heating are included. The wet-bath is compact but efficient.

Local activities and attractions within a 10 - 20 minute drive include: touring hill country wineries, hiking in the Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge, boating/kayaking on Lake Travis, grocery stores, restaurants & more! If you’re into cycling, as we are, we’re in a perfect location to stage from. There are miles and miles of low traffic, scenic hill country roads to choose from. Michael seldom turns down an opportunity to ride if you’d like a cycling partner.

We’re here to make your stay as pleasant and relaxing as possible. We’ll be on-site if you need anything. Check out our campsites too.  We hope to see you soon!

My boyfriend and I have always loved Airstreams, so when we found “Moonbeam” we decided to check it out. I’m not much of a nature girl so “camping” in a trailer seemed like a civilized way to spend a weekend. I’ve not only used Airbnb and HomeAway/VRBO to book my vacations, but I’m also a host, so I know the importance of cleanliness. Moonbeam was spotless! It came fully stocked with dishes, pots and pans, spices, linens, and even a scrabble game.

Not only was the Airstream super cool, but Michael and Sharon’s property was an added bonus. Right next to the camper was a little patio with a charcoal grill/smoker so we cooked up a storm. There’s also a hiking trail through the woods and a great communal fire pit. They told us before we booked that since it was August, the pond would be dry, but it was still plenty beautiful.

Sharon and Michael gave us a tour of what they have planned on their land. They have three additional campsites already, as well as a tiny house they call “the Hideout” that they’re fixing up. They also have a 1954 Traveleze canned ham trailer that they’ll be listing soon. We had a great time at the Round Mountain Ranch, and highly recommend it. And we’ll be back!
