We had a great stay at Cedar Root Portland Escape. It was the perfect city escape. Close and convenient, yet remote. Brad was a great host, he was extremely easy to communicate with and was there for any questions we had. There are multiple places to set up your tent on the property. All have flat ground, and each with their own style. One is located near a small pond and sauna. The other is nestled in the trees and one is located next to a playground set which would be great for kids. There are fire pits, although they can only be used when there aren't any burn regulations. There is a pond near the sauna that you can swim in, and there is an outhouse on site. Milo McIver State Park is located close and is a good spot to hike, bike, horseback ride, play disc golf and fish. Definitely, recommend staying here. We will be back.

What a beautiful property! We camped here the night before the eclipse. There are some beautiful campsites tucked away from it all - only 40 min from Portland! Brad was super helpful and great communicator. Thanks again!

Hipcamper Erik

We stayed here for the eclipse and it was a perfect spot for comfortable car camping. The host was really responsive.

Our family enjoyed a wonderful camping trip here! I was a little bit nervous to see how it would go as this was our first experience with Hipcamp. Brad was very easy to get in contact with and he answered all of my questions and set my mind at ease. His property is beautiful and private, but easy to get to and not too far from our home in the Portland Metro area. Our kids had a wonderful time and they were busy the whole time playing and exploring all the fun things to do on the property. We will be back!

Brad was super accommodating! After showing us around the property and introducing us to his incredible cat Waldo (who entertained us for hours), he hooked us up with all the firewood we needed for the night and multiple sauna sessions.

The property was gorgeous and we had fun walking around and exploring to get a good look at the stars.

Hipcamper Kayla

Great place to stay! The host was really nice and the property is beautiful!!

My son REALLY wanted to camp with a friend. The problem was that it was Sunday afternoon of Labor Day weekend- there was nothing available! Well, I went on Hipcamp and we booked this site and it was perfect. It met the goal of sleeping outside, the boys messed around at the pond, we walked the dog around the property and he had a great time, the hosts were gracious and helpful. We went to Mil McKiver state park in the AM, had a nice break from town.

Had an amazing time at Cedar Root! We booked last minute but the owner Brad was extremely accommodating and made us feel very welcome. The family has a massive property that was fun exploring on foot. The camping area is lush, near a pond and generally beautiful. Great escape into the woods close to Portland.
