We had an amazing family camping weekend, even though Mother Nature definitely put us to the test! 🌧️
The entire weekend was wet and rainy, and the creek below the hill where we originally planned to set up camp ended up flooding. Despite the challenging weather and unexpected flooding, the campsite itself was fantastic. It was spacious enough to comfortably accommodate all 10 of us, which made a huge difference for our family.
What really made the weekend special was that we didn’t let the rain or flooding ruin the experience. We stayed together, made the best of the situation, shared plenty of laughs, and created some great family memories. Sometimes the unexpected adventures end up being the ones you remember the most!
The campsite was beautiful, spacious, and a great fit for a large family group. Shout out to Eric, great host. We had a really good time and would definitely consider coming back again — hopefully with a little less rain next time! 😄🌲🔥
We had another terrific stay at Bluff Hollow Camp this year… and I will repeat what I said last year - it is a tranquil GEM of a site. We enjoyed days of peaceful solitude and forest bathing as well as excellent fishing access to the beautiful Root River. The maintenance and cleanliness levels are superb. And host Eric is a pleasure to work with. We eagerly look forward to returning next year!

Still my favorite place to camp! This site is beautiful!! The views, sounds and smells of the nature are the best here! The walking trails are wide and mowed, which is very appreciated!
Host is great and fast at communicating!
Only recommendation would be a dumpster of some sort, because driving with a weeks worth of trash trying to find a dumpster isn't the best especially with an already fully packed up vehicle. This doesn't stop me from coming back though ;)

Beautiful site! We stayed at the lower site. It was easy to navigate and peaceful.
We took our dog on his first camping trip to Bluff Hollow and it was exactly what we were looking for. The campsite was easy to find. It is perfectly secluded along beautiful bluffs and creek. We tent camped at the lower campsite and spent the day walking the creek (would be great for kayaks!) and trails. The outhouse was very well maintained. Overall, would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend for off leash doggy paradise.

This location is gorgeous. There are different layers of exploration, not to mention easy access to the river. Our dogs had a blast. The scenery is gorgeous. Wildlife is buzzing and native blooms surround you. I'd recommend this location to anyone, no matter what season. One day isn't enough. Love it here.
The upper site is wonderful, very large and lots of places to put your tent. There's a nice little walk down to the river, and private beach area. Great for dogs, small groups and familys.

This place is so peaceful and is our favorite hipcamp. We have been to many but this one so far is the most private with the sounds of nature. So much shade and the sounds of the river flowing feels like a recharge. Eric is also an amazing host! He makes you feel so welcome. We look forward to coming back!

This was our third year coming back, and we love it every time. It's incredibly peaceful, private, and secluded. The whole space is beautiful and such a relaxing place to unplug and enjoy being outside. We’ll definitely be back again!

Unbelievable!!!! Beautiful area! Extremely private. Able to walk along the river and fish. Wonderful paths made through the woods. Several camping spots for a larger gathering. So quiet and peaceful. Thank you Eric!!!!
This campsite is pure magic! The owner is so nice and addressed any questions quickly and made me feel so comfortable. Perfect spot for solo camping with your dog. We will definitely back on our own & with others!

We really loved camping on Eric's riverfront site. His property is amazing. It feels so secluded yet accessible. We camped at the fire ring next to the river and it was so peaceful. There is a nice size landing up above with the outhouse for larger groups but there was plenty of space by the river. The dogs loved getting into the water with us!

I take an annual trip to Bluff Hollow, and it is a camping trip I look forward to every year. Eric is a responsive and friendly host, and the campsite is breathtaking. Eric does a great job cutting trails, so you can explore the site. The river is a beautiful and tranquil space, and it's a great place to bring dogs. It's stunning.
Absolutely incredible, serene, magical space. It may be my favorite camp site ever. The water is perfect for fishing and swimming. The dogs had the time of their lives. Mosquitos were out after the heatwave, but nothing crazy. I can't wait to come back!!

Beautiful place to camp. quiet, secluded and tons of space to set up tents or park your van or popup. even the outhouse was nice. we setup at the upper site because the road going down to the lower site felt a bit extreme for a fwd camper van (promaster), but its only a quick walk down to the lower site and river where you can swim, fish, and take in the beautiful limestone bluffs. we also got to see and hear a bunch of owl activity at night which was really cool. 10/10 would gladly come back. thanks Eric!

Beautiful site. I can see why is so hard to get a reservation. It was hot as all get out, but the shade and stream helped a bunch. We stayed by the stream. Only recommendation is to remember a table if you stay on the lower site, as the picnic table is up top. Hope to make it back sometime!

Second time camping here, this place doesn't disappoint! Even when the fish aren't biting. Lovely land, well cared for, convenient and relaxing.
AMAZING! This is my fav camping spot! It’s hard not to be relaxed when u are dropped in nature’s beauty! Eric was very accommodating to my recent surgery and access to the land.
It was nice to just forget the worries and enjoy life. I brought my brother and his family this time and they were in ahhhh of everything! (Fireflies /tadpoles/ stars/bluff)

Gorgeous spot. I can't wait to camp here again. The view and privacy were beautiful, although we did see a few hikers/ anglers over the course of our stay, so not ENTIRELY private. The outhouse was really very nice and was so appreciated, 10/10.

Another wonderful stay at Eric’s place. It poured on our arrival day, heavy thunderstorms. We were prepared to park close to the gate so the travel trailer would not sink in. What a delight to see that Eric upgraded the path with gravel and we could park directly at the campsite. If you look at other travelers photos, it explains it all. This side is simply exceptional and the only side where we leave our dog off leash the whole stay. It’s 100% private and ‘away from it all’ while feeling very secure . Eric is responsive and on top of things. We would love to come back, thank you for sharing your place, Eric!

We have been coming here for years and it's always an amazing time. This was the first time we tried to paddleboard the river We entered at the bridge on county road 1, it was about a 4 mile trip that took us 3 hours, it was fun but if the river would have been just a few inches deeper we wouldn't have had to walk so much of it. I'd recommend the journey for sure, we might try it with inner tubes next time.

Had a great camping experience in our 12 ft popup at the lower campsite. Walking up to the outhouse gave us our cardio for the day! We enjoyed birdwatching at the river, seeing eagles use the river as their super highway, watching the pigeons and swallows on the limestone cliffs and listening to the barred owls at night. Also seeing trout, tadpoles, turtles and hearing frogs. Truly a peaceful experience. Eric was a great host, making sure everything was going well. This site is on our top 5 list of camping experiences and that is saying a lot because we’ve been camping forever. We will be back. Thanks Eric for sharing your land with us. Jim and Barb

This spot was wonderful! We drove down and camped by the river. The area was very peaceful and we walked the trails around the campsite! Love the scenery. Eric is very responsive and gives helpful directions/tips.
