Meadowia quiet and creative sanctuary surrounded by the forest. The ocean breezes freshen the air and the pulse of the planet is heard as the surf sounds travel to put us to rest at night.. We are a place for people experimenting with the new old ways to live with low impact and conservation of our precious resources. We offer affordable accommodations, organic gardening, and education on plants and living simply. We welcome your interest in veganic garden and diet, orchards, and forest trails. Our organic vegetables and fruit may be available if you wish to bring some of our farm to your table. We can offer you a quiet and peaceful place without social pressures if you wish to "decompress" from city life, jobs or any stressful times. Or come to the communal fire near the bathhouse for sharing some time with family and the few other campers that may be there. Bringing your own wood is welcome. The coastal bike and hike trails are many. From South of Ft Bragg to the Sand Dunes near Ward Ave. you can travel over 7 miles one way and go down to quiet little beach coves along the way. Meadow Farm is a nonprofit 501c3 with goals of coastal food security, disaster preparation and sheltering, carbon sequestering and forest restoration. We offer native plant tours on or off site with advance notice. We like our dog companions! Two McNab collies, Moxie and Shama live here and may bark at first...still very friendly and social with people and other dogs.. There are several dog friendly off-leash areas such as, Noyo North Harbor Beach, Seaside Beach and dog parks in both Ft Bragg and Mendocino. Our farm is dog friendly tho we wish pets to be kept close, must be neutered and friendly to other dogs and people. Please be sure to bury or bag the waste. Speaking of waste, Meadow Farm strives to reduce waste by avoiding plastic as much as possible, recycling what we can and composting our veggie scraps. Please bring your own waste receptacles and take them along when you go. We take ours to the Caspar Transfer Station which is open Saturday through Wednesday... the location and hours can be found online. Our water is from a deep well and we periodically test it for bacteria. It is cold and delicious. Our irrigation pipes that have spigots and hoses at each camp are safe for drinking, cooking and cleaning Our solar pump moves water into storage tanks that provide all the water to the farm. It is very important that the water valves on your camp spigot is turned off (gently please) to avoid losing 2500 gallons of water in a short time. If you see a leak or break in a line please contact us immediately. There are also water shut offs for the camps on the west side of the Farm House if you are unable to reach us right away.. When doing dishes we request that you use the strainer to catch food particles from the dish water and toss them in your trash or compost bucket. If you have vegetable waste let us know and we can pick them up for adding to the worm bins or composting piles. We make worm "tea" fertilizer and rich soil from these offerings. No animal products or oil please... a few egg shells are okay. We do have the usual wildlife though we haven't had problems with them. Ravens will raid your camp if food or bags are left out while you are away. From dusk to dawn keep children and pets close. We coexist well here with the critters...and glad to have them. Open to expansive views of the meadow, garden, sky and sunshine this site also has trees to nestle under for shade and relaxation. Turkeys may roam around or perhaps you'll find a feather or a Turkey Tail mushroom growing on a log nearby. The area is level for camping in an RV, trailer or tent. A picnic table and water is ready for your use. A spigot with potable water is at each site. A table is provided. A new bathhouse with composting toilet and hot shower is close by. All three of our Meadow's Edge campsites have views of our large producing organic garden. The sites have a place for one vehicle to park. If there is a second vehicle it can be unloaded and left in a safe parking area nearby. During this dry time of year we restrict fires to only one communal area on the farm. So if you wish to bring your guitar or marshmallows then this is a good place for hanging out with residents or fellow hipcampers. Just let us know you want this and we will help to make it happen. Firewood and starter material are welcome.

Red Tail Hawk is a specious and level camp site nestled with its back to the forest and open to views, sun and night magic of stars and moon toward the East. You are likely to see a big bird with a rust-colored tail heading into the woods near you after hunting up a gopher in the meadow. This site has sun the longest. It is best for van or tent vs larger RV. A potable water spigot and a table are in each site. We have a communal fire area. Bring a comfy camp chair and marshmallows. See you soon.

Early Spring rains can cause us to close this site. So far we are well into a dry spell and feel optimistic about hosting campers in the near future. Blue Heron is a specious and level camp site nestled with its back to the forest and open to views, sun and night magic of stars and moon toward the East. Look around during the early morning or evening and see if you spot Blue Heron standing still over a gopher hole in the meadow. A water spigot and table are there for your use. A bathhouse with composting toilet and hot shower is close by. All three of our Meadow's Edge campsites have views of our large producing organic garden. The sites have a place for one vehicle to park. If there is a second vehicle it can be unloaded and left in a safe parking area nearby. Do to fire restrictions we offer a campfire in one communal area on the farm near the camp. So if you wish to bring your guitar or marshmallows then this is a good place for hanging out and maybe meeting residents or fellow Hipcampers. Just let us know you want this and we will help to make it happen. Bring some wood and starter material. (often sold in bundle in town)

Just a mile and half from the spectacular Mendocino coastline. Hear the ocean surf and owls on the quiet nights, Walk the lane to the Meadow Farm Garden and take a tour with a volunteer gardener (get some fresh veggies). Many area trails and state parks along the coast line and into the beauty of the Redwoods, Grand Firs, Manzanitas, Huckleberries and other native plants. This is a very clean and safe site with access to electricity, good cell and wifi Note that it does not have outdoor facilities such as toilet, shower or tables. It is meant for RVs that are fully contained. We now offer water only for your own trusted filter, (or use for bathing or cooking) as we can't 100% quarantee this spring water system. Please use the free dump station behind the Chevron in Ft Bragg if needed as our gray water drain is small. We welcome you to Meadow Farm.!!

The Cozy Cabin:  ( If you book this Cabin please read this throughly. :) This is really a cheery and comfy little bedroom cabin See the garden through your window at this little bedroom cabin. The Cabin lives up to its name "Cozy". It is perfect for a solo or couple’s weekend getaway.  Surrounded by the peaceful meadow and garden it feels like you’re in the middle of the countryside...which you are...however, the town and ocean are just a couple of minutes away. If you read no more: Please bring queen size bedding and towels. If you forget or can't provide your own let us know as soon as possible. Please take your trash/recycle when you vacate. Bring flashlights! This is the only place on the farm that has use of the Community house (modest) bathroom and communal resident kitchen (about 75' away from the cabin). (as of 10/25/24 we are replacing the water heater, so hot showers are at the camp bathhouse until the plumber can do it) The kitchen is for light use and plant-based foods only. (storage, prep or eating). In other words. please do not bring animal products,  A picnic table could be used to prepare your food with your camp stove. We have provided the cabin with a small fridge and an electric tea pot and cups. The town of Ft Bragg is just a couple of miles away and provides a wide variety of menus.  The Cozy Cabin has the bed, a chest of drawers, and a bookshelf for your use. The Cabin is decorated with artwork using natural materials. A small electric heater adds the warmth first thing in the morning, if needed. The woodstove became a safety issue and always made the place too hot for comfort anyway, so it is there but not used at this time. On the small porch of the cabin you have the opportunity to journal, draw, or just enjoy the forest view. You can often spot a deer, turkeys or a rabbit from there.  You might want to bring camp chairs for outside the cabin..  You can charge some electric devices in the Cabin. It is on a solar array iwhich we have upgraded recently. It is still good to be prepared with flashlights and batteries or solar lanterns. We have solar lights along the path to the house. A little more about Meadow Farm: The cabin sits inside a 6-Acre Agricultural Easement, we call The Meadow, surrounded by tall trees. This 28 acres is under the direction of a Vision, Mission and Aims and a board of directors of this 501c3 nonprofit. You can find out more about our working veganic farm in a search for at Meadow Farm. org.  Also "Word of Mouth Mendo.com magazine featured Meadow Farm this Fall 2022 issue. A copy to view is in the top dresser drawer. We are honored to have a great variety of wildlife around the farm. You can spot or hear wild turkeys, deer, eagles, hawks, birds of all kinds, rabbits, foxes and many more - often right from the cabin windows.  The property is quiet. At night you can fall asleep with the sounds of the ocean surf, owl hoots and maybe coyotes in the distance..  We are fortunate to share a home with bears and mountain lions, too. Though we rarely see or know they are here. They want to leave us alone but keeping food secure in your vehicle is a good policy. Please be aware of your surroundings especially at night. A strong flashlight and a look around is a good policy. We receive delicious, fresh water from a well on the property and make use of solar power for our daily electricity needs. We value conserving water. So report any leaks, take short showers and turn off the faucet when brushing teeth...you know the drill!.  A campfire is only permitted in one area of the farm and may be shared with other campers and residents. Please ask in advance if this is something you would like. Please do not hesitate to message us if you have further questions. We warmly welcome you to be our guests at Meadow Farm.

Jo's Cabin camp is in a small private meadow surrounded by Redwood trees and a perfect setting to stargaze and enjoy nature. This was the favorite place for Joanna, the Founder of Meadow Farm Community Land Trust. The cabin is rustic but easier for some than a tent...so come and enjoy the quiet beauty of Jo's Meadow. Please read: Jo's little rustic cabin is a good fit for one or two people. It does not have electricity. A double latex mattress with light cover is on the bed .Please bring your own bedding and towels. Consider it camping with a cabin for a tent and a a bed! If you don't bring bedding please let us know. This off-grid farm does not have a laundry..so an extra fee will be for providing, delivering bedding and laundering. Thanks for your understanding Level areas outside are perfect for pitching tents and the parking area can accommodate small RVs or Vans. An outhouse enclosed shower has hot water. A composting toilet is a short walk from the cabin. The small meadow has two picnic tables and a food prep area with a cold water sink. It is open to the elements. You may drink the well water from the sink. Our policies prevents us from offering a campfire area at each site. We can at times offer a communal campfire in the meadow with hose, shovel and to use with great caution. We are at times able to offer a small fire pit with a spark cover Jo/s Little Meadow Camp to use with the same caution. Bring some firewood and starter if you want to use it. Never leave it unattended. We reserve the right to call a fire ban when the wind, dryness or county authorities deem it unsafe. We are experimenting with having this be a group site for up to 12 people. Please First share your plans with me and we will discuss if we can make it happen. Please note that Meadow Farm is not a destination for party groups using alcohol, drugs and smoking. We welcome nature lovers who are seeking a quiet refuge. So if you are used to primitive camping or want to give it a good try....come and make yourself at home in this beautiful, quiet and private place on the planet. Peaceful Stay at Meadow Farm Cabin!
Cozy Cabin at The Garden
The cozy cabin is just as described, cozy! It has everything one needs- a fridge, kettle, bed inside, plus a picnic table outside. The community house had plenty of cookware for my (vegan) cooking needs and a full bathroom. The cabin is the first building as you turn at the Hipcamp sign and there are other residences past the farm on the other side of the property, and campsites across the adjacent meadow. The property itself is surrounded by trees, and less than 10 mins driving to downtown Fort Bragg or MacKerricher SP. Even though it’s close to town, it feels very peaceful. During my stay I was pretty much the only one there once folks finished up for the day at the farm. You can hear the train at night but also frogs, crickets, and owls. Sojo and everyone I met there were very nice and helpful! I’d recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing and convenient spot near Fort Bragg.

Cozy Cabin at The Garden
The Cozy Cabin is tiny and adorable - one of those rare properties that is actually exactly as described in its listing. We brought our dog and had a lovely stay. The bed is very comfortable, the cabin is well insulated, well spaced from other dwellings and campsites, the land around it is beautiful, and there are lots of stars to see on a clear night. Only noteworthy flaw was upon arrival: it was pretty tough to find our way in the dark. Arrive in the daylight if possible until they add clearer night-reflective signage and/or a detailed campsite map!

Quiet spot for the RV. Easily fit our 25 foot airstream but disconnected the truck. Nice paved bike trail along the coast right next to Glass Beach. Visited the Schnaubelt Distillery and enjoyed a flight of their liquor and cocktails!

We've camped here 2x now and have been lucky enough to have been the only campers there both times when we've gone in the off season. A fabulous time to visit. Sojourna was welcoming. We appreciate: - the absolute quiet...simply unbelievable that some place can be so quiet. We really love the break from loud passing cars, bumping music and even airplanes. Complete bliss. - the shower set up is above grade. Having stayed a number of hip camps, it's amazing how many places don't have a dry area to change and also, hooks! This has it all. We have the same propane heater in our home outdoor shower. - the composting toilet area is clean and perfectly set up. Spacious and airy. We love Mendocino and will definitely be back.

We had the place to ourselves and it was lovely. The tent space was level and potable water was easily accessible. There were a table, chairs, and sun umbrella at the space which was so convenient. The compostable toilets were also a nice touch. The bathhouse was lovely and we were grateful for the Castile soap tho we brought our own. Definitely take advantage of the veggie option. We loved having an assortment of farm-fresh veggies to complement our meals. The campsite struck a balance of both feeling like we were away from hustle and bustle yet only being 10 minutes from the heart of Ft. Bragg. We will definitely be back!

A beautiful meadow, surrounded by forests and a view of the organic gardens. Luxuries include fresh well water onsite, table and chairs, prep table, extremely clean composting toilet and warm shower with changing room. We camped at Turkey Tail which is farthest away from the bath house, but really everything is a close walk. Natural forest provides privacy between the campsites and it was very peaceful and quiet. Bonus if you stay during the full moon. Meadow Farm is ideally located just a short drive to the coast, Fort Bragg, Caspar and about 20 minutes from Mendocino. Sojourna is a lovely, welcoming host. Highly recommend!

What a lovely spot. Sojourna was a very warm, engaging, and responsive host. The meadow was quiet and peaceful. Having easy access to a drinking showers, a warm shower, and a toilet amidst camping was awesome! And it was exciting to touch base with such an intentional community.

Second time staying here and love it. Super easy to find and feels isolated enough while being close to town and beaches. Having a warm private shower is super nice and a site that’s pretty private from the rest. Only thing I will say and this might be just during summer you can hear the skunk train whistle late thru the night and early morning. Didn’t bother me but if you’re a light sleeper you might get woken up. Will definitely be back again.

We loved Meadow farm and the peaceful atmosphere there. We watched the fog roll in in the evening, we played frisbee in the grass, and enjoyed being surrounded by trees. Sojourna let us move to one of the spots on the meadow (no hookups for the RV, but it's a much nicer spot up there!). Thanks Sojourna!
