Rustic but comfortable place to stay. Corey is still working on improving facilities and was very nice! We messaged him very last minute for a place to stay since we had some plans change and he was quick to respond and help us out. Would definitely recommend!
Corey was awesome. He was friendly and welcoming, gave us the pertinent deets about his grounds and the night we’d be staying there, and told us some stories about his own journey to the islands. The grounds were out of the way of the bustle of Kona, and quite pretty.
Not so lucious camp
We arrived the host was not there. No one to greet us. Tried calling, texting and emailing. No answer. About 2 hours later he returned my call. He said we could stay. The 2 sites we could find were overgrown and in poor condition. He told us we could use bathroom inside house. There was a dog in the screen porch that didn't barked at us. Not going in there. We slept in the car. Don't go here. Terrible
Corey is a lovely person who shared a nice morning on the patio with us and let us use his bathroom. The dogs and cats are super sweet, and the area has gorgeous plants all over.
It is quite dark there, so be sure to bring a flashlight. Also, despite the urge to set up camp on the wooden patio, I suggest going on the grass and getting to gaze at the stars (unless you have a super comfy sleeping pad, which I definitely do not). Overall lovely experience and I'm happy we got to spend two nights there.
Corey wasnt home but we communicated by phone and with his explanation we were still able to pitch our tent and find all we needed. Its just as described in the description. Basic but perfectly fine and Corey supplied all the info we needed. No complaints !
