A short hike up the trail with your gear (wheelbarrow provided) brings you to a beautiful tent site looking out over the north/south canyon with plenty of sunshine during the daylight hours, and a moonlit evening with softly hooting owls and distant coyotes. Pitch your tent either on the earth or on the platform in the pine and fir forest for a relaxing vacation in Nature. A couple of hammocks invite a nap, or conversation. A big picnic table is a convenient place to cook on your portable stove. What’s a camp out without a fire? Unless there is a burn ban, which there now is, you have a fire ring, grate, and complimentary bundle of wood, hotdog forks, and a water hose to make the evening uneventfully perfect. In keeping with our permaculture practices, a sawdust toilet ( exclusively for your site) is available in the Far Out House, and pure water is onsite. Bringing bottled water is unnecessary, unless our water is turned off due to freezing nightime temperatures. Check with me. A deluxe solar shower and pedestal sink keep you clean and refreshed. Sanitizer is by the sink. We have a “pack it in pack it out” policy as well as “leave no trace.” Your hosts, however, will take care of the toilet. Daytime walks can lead you to a swimming hole at the creek, a fairy garden, a stone labyrinth, a sweet “tea house”, yoga platform, and many meditation spots. Our 10 acres have been a delightful retreat from the busy-ness of urban life and being cooped up due to the virus.

Jane was very welcoming and the campsite was well-equipped, spacious and comfortable. We loved the outdoor shower and it was great that the campsite included a platform for the tent. It was useful to have a hose with potable water and the wooden picnic table with woollen blankets on the seats was perfect for our family. We enjoyed our time with Jane and John, playing the ukulele, crafting and wading in the creek and we had fun exploring the site's trails, hammocks, Fairy Tree and watching the deer in the evening. We hope to return in the future!
Lovey peaceful location! No RVs which was such a treat for us! We stayed 3 nights! We enjoyed walking around the property. Many fun secrets to discover there. Map provided upon arrival. Jane and John were amazing hosts! First morning Jane happened to have fresh eggs from her chickens to share with us.! Sweet gift! John gave us a tour of the gorgeous yurt and surroundings! This retreat is absolutely beautiful and peaceful in every sense of the word. Yet close enough to enjoy all that Spokane has to offer. We plan on returning! Highly recommend!! ❤️ Our niece, who lives in Spokane says the Gaea Retreat will be her get away from the city when she needs a break!

A hidden gem I would definitely recommend visiting!! We stayed at campsite #1 for 4 days, relaxed in hammocks, explored the many fun paths on the property, and welcomed by the most superb host, Jane.

This is a beautiful, family-friendly retreat at the bottom of a gorgeous canyon away from everyday hustle and bustle. Our campsite comfortably fit our family of four with room to spare, was very well maintained and fit for a "hidden gems" magazine article. We loved watching the stars come out while we kicked back in the two hammocks!
The site was just a short hop from the "Far Outhouse", which is a fun sixties-themed outhouse we got a big kick out of. The owners put a lot of work into the area, including hidden gems such as the Gypsy Rose (travel trailer converted into a tea/card room), a cave built into a hillside and even a yoga deck.
I didn't get to meet Jane (due to arriving later after the rest of my family) but my husband was pleased with her hospitality and she kept up great communication with me up to and through our camp dates.
This is just a great little area and I highly recommend it!
