Past trips
Past trip
in Dash Point State Park, WashingtonGreat black berry picking in the late summer. Can access by local bus (about a mile walk from last stop). Campground on one side of the road, water access and recreation area on the other. Can get loud with jets flying overhead to the airport.
Past trip
in Tongass National Forest, AlaskaRight on water, great spot to watch for wildlife. Be prepared for rain, and understand food handling/bear best practices.
Past trip
in Steamboat Rock State Park, WashingtonLots of amenities and very popular. I prefer some of the smaller campgrounds along Banks lake that don't get as much traffic and are more rustic. Very popular in summer months and can be very windy.
Past trip
in Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, WashingtonTucked in the trees past several other campgrounds. Most sites don't have a view of the water, but there is a raft put in, that provides access to the water. There are a few quirky sites, one with an old shelter, some with very large trees, other's clinging to the hillside. Pit toilets and very quite.
Past trip
in Olympic National Park, WashingtonWas closed when they took the dam out. Re-opened briefly, but had to close again indefinitely because of flood damage. One of my favorite places.
Past trip
in Umpqua National Forest, OregonAcross the road from the falls. The picnic area can get very busy in the summer, mostly used by locals.
Past trip
in Camano Island State Park, WashingtonI actually stayed at the neighboring Cama Beach State Park (but it's not a choice). In the summer months the cabins here are booked solid, but in the off season, it's very quiet. We went in October and we were the only ones there. Beautiful view, right on the water, very helpful & friendly staff. Some cabins have restrooms, the public ones are very clean and well kept. You can't cook in your cabins beyond a microwave & coffee pot. There are grills outside at various locations and they provide wood to burn.
Stephanie hasn't gone on any trips yet.
Hipcamp Hosts can leave an optional review of their Hipcampers after the trip is completed. This is where those reviews from Hipcamp Hosts will appear.

in Ginkgo Petrified Forest State Park, Washington
Not much in the way of shade and is usually windy.
