Past trips
Zen river mountain paradise
in Zen river mountain paradise, WashingtonThis is a fantastic spot right on the river. There is swimming a short hike away and also plentiful blackberries ripe for picking! Our host Ellen was warm, friendly and had added lots of nice touches. Communication was great. Note there is now a second tent in the back yard and also the possibility of house guests, so not the most private site. Still, highly recommend!
Site 3 Closed (book w/4?)
in Mossy Magical Forest, WashingtonFinney Farm offers several primitive campsites on their farm property that are surrounded by trees. Most are short walk from a wonderful creek for sunbathing and swimming. We never saw anyone else on the creek, it was totally private. This is a great place for a shady retreat.
There's a composting toilet but it's a pretty good hike from the creek, and it ran out of toilet paper, so bring extra. There's no running water, but some potable water was provided by the farm, and some useful amenities like tables and float toys. I thought there would be produce available for sale but we never saw any out.
We never met our host but her daughter helped check us in. There's a big dog on the property that is a bit aggressive at first but friendly once they know you're guests. Mostly quiet but there was some noise from traffic and tree work nearby.
Overall I would recommend the farm if you really like swimming and want a private swimming hole as the creek is the highlight here.
