Site 2 - Jackolope Ranch Tent/RV Site
in Jackalope Ranch, New MexicoQuiet escape with great views
Robertâs ranch was so much better than we even expected! The sites were well kept and open, spread out enough to feel private, and the views from site 2 at sunset and as we watched a rain storm roll in were magical. The road out to the ranch is smooth but as other reviewers have said a higher clearance would be recommended for driving on the ranch. We were in a 30â RV and it was tricky making some turns! But so glad we made it work!
Would definitely stay there again next time weâre in the area!
Camp Colorado River
in Rural Austin, TexasCamp Colorado River has an amazing setting. A nice field surrounded by farm-life, a table and firepit and clean pop-up toilet tent, and, most importantly, easy access to the river. As other reviewers have said, the river is pretty fast moving, but it's shallow and has some bends that are easy to plop down and chill in. My dog LOVED it.
Stephanie (owner) was easy to communicate with and directions/guidelines were very straightforward and clear.
I'll let the photos say the rest, however, will note that there is a dog kennel at the farm next door where the dogs bark, a lot, including at 2:30am. So, maybe bring ear plugs if you're a light sleeper.
Overall a wonderful weekend getaway from Austin!
