River Goddess Chalet Lithia Florida

Our stay at River Goddess Chalet left us with mixed feelings about it due to a mix of factors, some good, some not so much.
The Good: The property itself was rather nice. Lots of little trails, nooks and crannies to explore, sit, and chill. Lots of beautiful trees, even a little beach spot on the river with an available canoe just a few steps away. Our spot was the best out of the available trailer/RV spots. Christine was very friendly and gave us personal tour of the property on arrival. This was the highlight of our stay. However, this quaint spot was tarnished by events mostly outside of the hosts control, leaving us overall a bit disappointed.
The Not so Good: The otherwise peacefulness of this location was constantly disrupted by Christine's neighbor who decided that 7:30am on a Sunday would be a perfect time for firearm target practice. When we got there on Saturday afternoon we heard some of the gun shots and we were a bit annoyed by it, but figured, whatever. Then when the guns started going off at 7:30am Sunday we could not believe it. Our small dogs got stressed when the guns would go off so we had to put them in the RV many times. The couple in the spot next to us called it quits after the 7:30am wakeup shots; packed up their teardrop and left. We stuck it out one more night. In the early evening, target practice. Monday morning as we packed up to leave... more target practice. The gunshots were supplemented by more noise from another neighbor's pack of ranch dogs barking in the mornings. The tent campers were much closer to the shooting noise and I don't think they were please about it either.
It's really a shame we experienced these issues (could have been due to the holiday weekend, who knows), otherwise this place would have been quite nice and we would have come away with much more positive experience.
Past trip
in Collier-Seminole State Park, FloridaSam R.doesn't recommend this listing.
Mosquito hell! Thank goodness it was 50 degrees out and everyone had sweaters, long pants and long sleeves so it was bearable and we didnât get bit thanks to all the clothing layers. We went for thanksgiving a few years ago and the mosquitos really made this otherwise fine campground quite annoying. I could not imagine staying here in hotter months. Stay well away in the summer; the mosquitos here are the size of 747s and there are many. It is by far the worst mosquito-infested place we have stayed in Florida.
Sam hasn't gone on any trips yet.
Hipcamp Hosts can leave an optional review of their Hipcampers after the trip is completed. This is where those reviews from Hipcamp Hosts will appear.
