Past trip
in Adirondack State Park, New YorkLove this place! It is remote and in the heart of the Adirondack High Peaks. It's just a twenty minute drive to Tahawus, a 19th century iron mining/smelting town. Tahawus (meaning "cloud splitter") is also the trailhead for hikes to many of the high peaks including New York's tallest, Mt. Marcy,
Past trip
in Kring Point State Park, New YorkMy boyhood favorite! It's a peninsula jutting out into the St. Lawrence River. Sit on the rocks around the fire as the sun goes down in blazing glory over the river. The river is also an International waterway featuring freight bearing ships traveling from ports within the Great Lakes to destinations throughout the globe.
