Past trips
in Everglades National Park, Florida
One of my favorite camping trips ever. I came here after a storm had rolled through so a lot of the amenities and features of the park were closed, but they had just cleared some of the walk in camp sites.
Getting to see the sunset and rise over the water was amazing. Add to it the clear skies and stars at night, I was in heaven. Also had a visitor while I was warming up an MRE that decided to eat his fish while I had dinner also.
in Mojave National Preserve, California
I usually like to start or end my long road trips with a quick over night in Mid Hills Campground because of the secluded nature of it. It does have water and toilets so that a plus for being such a remote campground.
The main perk for me is the lack of light pollution, so you can see so many stars on a clear night.
