I keep coming back; this is my new go to camping location. Why do I keep coming back? It's simple; I find something new each trip, the special touches by the host, the feeling of being far from civilization. Little Wing Hollow has it all!!

Little Wing Hollow offers everything you want and need for an excellent camping experience. Anessa has operated Little Wing Hollow as a retreat and just recently opened it up to Hipcamp. This place is perfect if you like primitive camping and still want the convenience of parking next to your tent. If you prefer to park your vehicle and hike to the campsite, there are spots for that, as well.
You'll find everything here; hike along the Chaplin river, walks in open fields filled with wild flowers, hikes through numerous, well-maintained trails in the woods, play in the river and even rent a kayak!
There is great bird watching if your are quiet on your walks. I saw an owl by the river and a turkey hen on her nest. I didn't see any deer, but on one of my walks I heard a 'snort' from within the woods. Butterflies seem to follow you around and at night, Frisbee Field looks like fireworks are going off from all the lightening bugs. There is an artist trail with unique installations along the trail. The views are incredible; magnificent sunsets, a lazy river flowing by, and bucolic open fields.
It's evident Anessa and Beau have put a lot of love and work into Little Wing Hollow. There are super accommodating and very friendly, but leave you to explore and enjoy. Anessa even provided a copy of a hand drawn map to help navigate all the property has to offer.

Never has a 'field behind the house' been so appealing. Whether you need a couple night layover campsite or just need to get out of the city; this is a hidden gem. When rain was first forecast, Laura (the host) generously offered a rain check and she was completely agreeable when I wanted to show up despite the rain.
Laura's husband, Chris brought firewood back to me and he even included some 'fat wood' and quick starter. I had forgot to ask about the location of the water spigot when I arrived and Chris offered to fill my water container and bring it back.
Now about the campsite. The area is in a large tree lined field. I chose the back counter of the field. The spot provided sweeping views of the open field and sky line. I only occasionally heard vehicle traffic. Any breeze catches in the tree line and you can easily imagine you are far from civilization and you might as well be. This is definitely a spot I would 'pitch a tent' at again!
