Yellow Jacket
in Rusty's Roost River Glamping, North CarolinaHad a good time!
On the plus side; the layout of the tents was perfect. Spaced out just enough for privacy. The deck height made you feel safe, kept dirt out of the tent, and offers coverage underneath from sun and rain. You face the water and have pretty easy access. The attention to the big details was well thought out. The bathrooms were no frills, but clean and laid out practically (with hot water!). The furniture was positioned well with an outlet on the side of the bed and night stand boxes. The host was very friendly, helpful, and responsive.
On the minus side; the train is SO loud. It can be exciting during the day, but it came through at least three times each night. Maybe good noise canceling headphones would help, but something to keep in mind. Some added suggestions would be for the smaller details like leveling the picnic tables (it did look like they were trying to do this to some tables) or maybe a walkway/ smoother path to the water, more attention to the trash around the campsite and water.
Overall a great and relaxing experience. It is a lot easier than camping and a lot closer to the oh so quaint town of Burnsville than I thought it would be. Conveniences like being able to buy ice and wood made it so that we did not have to go anywhere. I would recommend this place with confidence. It would be a perfect place for a large group or otherwise.
