Site 1 - Owl Stage Camp
in Black Oak Ranch, CaliforniaA wonderful and safe camping trip.
After four months of not going anywhere this sounded like a safe way to get away to a place we know and love while still socially isolating. It did not disappoint. The beautiful Black Oak Ranch is alive with wildlife this year when so few people are around and the campsites are far enough apart to provide privacy and safety.
Owl camp had a nice amount of shade - good in the heat of the day! The way they are set up all the camps have a good amount of shade and privacy. Our closest neighbor to either side was a good football field away. Everyone was observant of the masking and distancing rules and we had a nice, safe trip.
Our only stop on the way to and from was at our local Costco for gas. We brought everything we needed to avoid going into Laytonville, and packed out everything we brought to avoid contributing to anyone else's garbage. Please do the same if you visit.
