Myself, my significant other, and another couple (see Nina's review) ventured out to Wallace's cabin for a much needed relaxing weekend. Getting there in the dark was certainly a challenge â but with Wallace's detailed directions, we made it safe and sound.
Wallace was incredibly generous and welcoming, even had a fire set up in the wood stove for us when we arrived! I woke up to a message from our host, with a spot-on accurate weather forecast, and he even had incredibly helpful suggestions on where to watch some of the epic, big waves rolling in that weekend.
This piece of property is absolutely stunning in its beauty. Words just don't really do it justice. The cabin is set back from the tidal slough a bit, but you can see the water from the front door. It is definitely rustic, but it is warm and dry â and on a couple of mid-January nights, that is just what was in order. There are tons of books in the cabin as well, on backpacking, mushrooms, bushcraft and so many other topics. He was an awesome rain barrel catchment system set up, which is run on a pump system to the kitchen sink, and has a nice little four-burner propane stove which you can use as well.
Wallace gave myself and Nina a kayak lesson, and was even kind enough to let my dog try and join in on the fun.
The property itself make it well worth the trip back, but Wallace is genuinely one of the most generous, kind, welcoming hosts I have ever had the pleasure to meet. We'll most certainly back, and probably more than once.
