in Death Valley Stargazing Camp, CaliforniaThe place is definitely named Death Valley for a reason. Close to the town of Bishop and surrounded by mountains.
The reason I wouldnât recommend would be because there are so much BLM land that you could stay without having to pay for it. The roads are all unmarked so speeding is like normal for some people. I almost got ran over on the main road by a passing vehicle going about 50mph. The bugs comes out as soon as the sunset, not your normal bugs either, a sworm of flying fleas that made it spending time to look at the moon impossible. Our poor dogs were covered by these and we had to pick them off and spray them down. The bathrooms were full and they are about half a mile away which made it hard to get to at night.
Would I do this again? Anywhere but there., but it was an experience.
