Lake side
in Haven Lake, CaliforniaWhen the National Forests closed right before our camping trip on Labor Day weekend, I found this place and booked it based on the price and reviews. There were six of us all together, my husband and I with our 4 and 2 year old, plus my parents in their travel trailer. We told Jacob we had wanted to try fishing, so they showed us a spot closer tot he lake, but when we said we were worried about driving the trailer to that site, he said it wasnât a problem and showed us another site, which was perfect. As we started setting up, Jacob gave us the 411 on pests/ bothersome critters that may bother us in the area and what to do if we run into them. While we stayed there, we fished with our tiny kids (not much luck when you have a two-year-old splashing in the water), walked up and down the road between sites, and hung out in the shade. My parents loved how close we were to several large lakes and the 168, which made it easy for my sister to drive up with her kids and visit us for an evening. I would 100% recommend anyone who wants an easy to get to, well maintained and secluded camping spot. My dad is already planning our next trip up there!!
