We were able to book pretty last minute for a holiday weekend, close to Taylor's Falls. The directions that opened from Hip Camp took us to the middle of Wyoming rather than Clover Bee Farm, so I recommend using the actual farm website address from online rather than HipCamp! Once we got there, we were greeted by Margo who was friendly and helpful. It was a short drive on the routes through their vegetable fields to get to a newly mown area near the woods. It's also fairly close to a back road, so although there was some evening traffic, it wasn't much. Our four year old daughter was able to catch both a frog and a toad at different points during our stay, as well as see the ducks, chickens and friendly dog, Aida. It is rustic camping, so plan to either dig cat holes or use a bucket and pack it out. We bought some veggies that we needed for dinner and they were great! It was pretty buggy if you went into the tall grass but otherwise not too bad. Still bring bug spray.
We made a trip into St Croix Falls to visit Fawn Doe Rosa and get lunch before heading back on the second day, which was a short and easy drive.
Overall we really enjoyed the area and the chimnea provided for a beautiful place to set up camp, have some warm fires and family time outside.

This was a very unique stop for a second night of a camping road trip! We are a couple with a two and a half year old, and we were so thankful to get a very last minute reservation with Llama Landing at Bumble Farms after a different reservation fell through due to weather and site conditions. We definitely recommend using the directions through the Hip Camp listing, as regular Google can bring you to town instead of the farm. We arrived and Cassidy was welcoming, explained that the animals were all very gentle and friendly, and typically roamed so we could decide if we wanted them to leave the gate open overnight and possibly wake up with a llama outside our tent in the morning! They ended up closed in so we could eat without sharing, but it was a pretty exciting idea and we loved all the friendly animals. The site is just behind their house and farm buildings, and there is a mobile "fire pit". We stayed fairly close to the trees right behind them rather than going a little further by the grassy overlook, but it was pretty. There were two adorable and very friendly farm kittens who spent most of the night in our laps and then sleeping by us - we all loved that. It was a little rough getting back to the site because it was recently wet from weather and kind of mucky/bumpy, but we had 4WD so it was fine. A little strange to feel like you are camping in someone's back yard behind a farm, but the animals really made it a fun experience and I'm glad we stayed with them. I wouldn't recommend camping with small children since there are farm animals and related things all around, it was hard to keep an eye on ours and prevent her from picking up all of the little things she found (some of which I'm sure were left by the animals), but if you don't mind roughing it a bit without a formal toilet in the back of a farm, a school aged or older kids and animal loving people would probably enjoy it. We did. 😊

I'm not sure where to begin, so I'll just start with three words: Above and Beyond.
P2 Rendezvous Retreat Camp was our very first booking through HipCamp, and it has set high expectations! It will be hard to compare it to others though, as it was such a unique experience. From the very beginning, Pam and Pat were very responsive to messages and came across as warm, welcoming, and looking forward to sharing their space with us. We are doing a 10-day, nine-night road trip tour of MN (yes Pam, I totally forgot to count the extra weekend!) and since we were getting a late start on Friday, we were relieved to find a unique looking place with a "Safari Tent" or "Tipi" that we could book for the night without worrying about setting up camp in the dark with a tired toddler. When we arrived that evening as dusk was setting, we were totally blown away. It may have helped that the sun was going down and the twinkling string lights around the trees and structures were especially visible, but it felt magical! It was easy to find, and Pam met us in the driveway for a brief tour of the grounds. We were set up in the Safari Tent, which was either professionally decorated or they have yet another talent to share! It was spacious, cozy, airy and the decor matched the Safari theme. It was labeled with the word "Gratitude," which was fitting. The spaces were clearly designed to bring people together, but we had the place to ourselves which was just as enjoyable. We shared a comfortable, fully furnished queen bed - the only reason we didn't sleep soundly the whole night was because our toddler slept in directions only toddlers can. (For the record, we were offered a cot if we needed more bed space, but turned it down. Next time we'll take the cot 😉). It was a relaxing and beautiful start to our trip. The next morning, we were treated to coffee the hosts put outside on their patio overlooking the scenic grounds, and were amazed yet again by their "Humming Cove" - a garden with several hummingbird feeders that the Hummingbirds obviously loved. We've never seen so many of the delicate little birds in one place before. It was an experience from start to finish, and we cannot wait to come back to share it with friends and family - and make a weekend of it next time so that we can explore the things we ran out of time to try! If we hadn't had an itinerary to keep, we'd have stayed the second night that they invited us to. We would have loved more time to talk to Pam and Pat as well, as they seem to be truly kind, intelligent, and creative people with a lot to share beyond their beautiful retreat. We can't recommend P2 Rendezvous highly enough!

We were in one of the Campground Cabins to give our tent a chance to dry out and get a break from tenting on our road trip. It was beautiful - the park has so many things to see and places to hike or bike! The cabin was great - had a bed, a small kitchen, and a bathroom with toilet and sink. We still cooked out on the fire ring provided and ate at the picnic table, but it was a perfect way to enjoy the park for a day and night without the tent set up and tear down. We all enjoyed our stay!

We just spent one night at Flandrau State Park Campground because we wanted to visit New Ulm during our MN road trip. I think we had the best site in the non-electric, #10. It is pretty typical for a state park, but both sides of the campground had pretty easy access to the showers and bathrooms which was nice. We just missed the poolseason by a couple of weeks, but it looks like an awesome set up - a sand bottom, zero entry pool so that it's like a very clean man made pond. Check in was easy, it is super close to town and just about a mile from Hermann the German and the very cool park next to him. Pretty good night, and very comfortable tent camping.
