Past trips
Riverside RV Spot
in Dreamland, TexasGreat spot for a quick trip!
Great host and site! My wife and I wanted a quick trip out of the city and this was just what we were looking for! The host, David, was great, responsive and friendly. He let us know where all of the good spots on the river were and we appreciated his insight.
Definitely bring booties for your dogs! There are lots of stickers so knowing and preparing for that will make your stay much better. Our dogs wore booties (begrudgingly) and never had issues with stickers in their paws.
We camped in a 22ft trailer. All the hookups worked fine. No real cell service but enough to send and receive texts. If you absolutely need service, you can go into Llano which is only 10 mins away.
We had a great time and will return!
Fiesta & Siesta Private RV Resort
in Fiesta & Siesta RV Resort, TexasGreat site and host!
Great site, great host and a beautiful part of the state! My family, our 2 dogs and I stayed here for 3 nights in Jan. We have a 22 ft trailer and had no issues with space. The grills and outdoor sink were very handy and we used them daily.
The location is perfect for sitting in the river with no one around and for day trips to Lost Maples or Garner SP.
We have Verizon and had no cell service for the entire trip which was a bonus for us. If you must have cell service you can drive 20 minutes into Leakey.
All around this was a wonderful place and we'll definitely return!
It's a Wendelful Life Ranch
in It's a Wendelful Life Ranch, TexasThis land is a real gem!
Maggi's land is a wonderful place and my family and I can't wait to return!
Maggi was a terrific host! We were coming in from Austin during some heavy rain. When we left Llano for the last 20 minutes of the drive, we discovered the roads were closed due to flooding. I texted Maggi and she immediately called me and helped me with alternate directions (Hwy 16 into Fredericksburg, turn right on Main, turn North on Hwy 67 and then take 2323 about 6 miles north of town).
We got in much later than we expected - around 9:30 - but they were there to greet us and show us to our site. It was a lovely site under some very old pecan trees.
We spent the next 2 days exploring the ranch, feeding the horses, shooting BB guns and digging for Native American artifacts. None of us had ever worked at a dig site before and it was more fun than I ever imagined. We found multiple pieces of Native American tools and arrowheads. The kids loved watching their parents 'play in the dirt'.
We pulled a 22' Airstream and had no trouble getting in or out.
This was our first time using Hipcamp and we're so glad we found Maggi's land. It is Hill Country beauty at its finest. We will definitely return to continue exploring and enjoying the hospitality!.
