Pond Campsite
in Shanti Permaculture Farm, CaliforniaWe loved our stay in the Enchanted Forest! The farm is tucked away up some back roads of spread out houses and farms.
We arrived just before sundown. Checkin was super easy and the staff is laid back. Brian and Bean were great hosts.
The pond is not really in full swing yet so we camped in the lower site which is hidden in the trees. It was a great spot, the ground is super cushy and the weather was amazing which was shocking for early February.
This location is close to a number of great hikes, we woke up early and had duck eggs for breakfast, fed the animals (including Cosmo the llama!), then set off to the Pomo Canyon/Red Hill trail loop. It took about 4hrs at a moderate pace and we ended by heading down to Shell Beach and walking part of the Kotum trail which is relatively flat and good for a post-hike cool down.
The site is also very close (6min drive/41min walk) to The Grove of Old Trees which we opted not to visit this time around for the sake of time, but pictures look fantastic and comes highly recommended by one of the hosts, Brian.
The fire pit at the upper camp site is great and an amazing place to star gaze. Overall, we loved our stay and will definitely come back to camp by the pond when it's popping off.
