Orchard Hilltop Camp @Willoway Farm
in A Vegetable & Flower Farm, WisconsinMy girlfriend and I had a wonderful experience camping here for one night in May. As a couple that considers themselves on the introverted side of things, it was fantastic to be able to camp in what amounts to a private campground, just for the two of us.
Sure, there were plenty of opportunities to mingle with the kids and dogs on the property, so we weren't completely alone, but that's also a good thing. We were a little bit close to a road, but you'd be close to a road at almost any campground in the area and at least here you had NO other campsites around to keep you up all night with noise.
The setting was gorgeous on top of a little hill with amazing sunrise/sunset views, the location was well-situated (short drive to Harrington Beach SP or Kettle Moraine North) and you have the option of purchasing locally grown produce if you'd like.
There were a couple small drawbacks (very little shade for more than maybe one or two small tents, outhouse toilet, difficult access to water for cleaning/drinking) but I think that was mainly due to the fact that we were the first hipcampers at this place and I'm sure they'll be addressed as this wonderful little site evolves. The hosts were super cool and I highly recommend staying a night or two here.
