Pros:
Tents are spaced out and all have privacy. Brand new bathroom area is fantastic. Clean modern toilets and showers in each room with towels and soap all ready to go! Great location right up against gorgeous rock foothills. Each tent has a mini charcoal weber, lighter fluid, match stick, three fire pit logs, two chairs. Bed was clean and comfortable with sheets and pillows. All very welcome!!
Cons:
You can hear the sound of the main road (not too loud) through the night. The zipper to our tent was broken. I think the biggest issue is with booking through places like hip camp or AirBnB is that you never speak to anyone and there seems to be a lack of responsibility in this dynamic. I have read on other reviews that people were moved multiple times before getting into a tent and my situation was no different. I had a confirmed booking in tent #10, which is the best tent for two reasons. Closest to the bathroom and also it is the only one that has a small amount of shade falling on the tent and cools off that tent much earlier than the rest, and believe me it was HOT in that tent before the shade arrived.
I had moved into my tent and about two hours later someone showed up with a confirmed reservation to the same tent from AirBnB. It is now 7p and you are standing there in the middle of nowhere and there is o no one to talk to about the issue? It was very awkward and I texted the whole affair to the âhostâ and never heard back, which indicates there is a âoh let it work itself outâ attitude, which I really do not appreciate. I think places like HipCamp can do better in this area, it is all wrapped in a package that appears very friendly and hands on and personal, but nothing in more personal that actually talking to a human being, even if culturally it is drifting farther and farther way.
I would recommend and I would go back, but I would MAKE SURE my confirmation was acknowledged by all parties
