Dabudage - different camping!

(Dispersed site)
First time trying out a Hipcamp site. I would recommend this place and would definitely come back here in Summer. I wanted to camp out in Big Sur as I've never camped out there and I'm glad I searched in Hipcamp, because all the rec.gov campsites were full, obviously!
I booked for 2 nights, regular camping. The hosts, Ohji and Brie were mostly occupied, so Maggie managed the online bookings and initial communication. She did an excellent job communicating with me and assisting me with the directions and all the other stupid questions I had. Made me feel comfortable and easy to reach there. The place is not that hard to find, but make sure you have a print out of the directions/ instructions with you before arriving. No cell phone network here guys (get a book, not your ipad)! I already searched the area in google earth to get little more familiar with the place and where to get off from Route 1. Read the hosts instructions for more details after booking. Also, make sure you arrive before sundown to make it easier for you and the hosts.
We arrived by afternoon and parked our car (please park in marked areas). I stepped out of the car to see the most serene and enchanting place ever. It felt like you are in the middle of the Forest, with trees, gardens and a creek. Like a perfect getaway from all the Bay Area crap (if you know what I mean). The first thing you hear is the sound of the creek and the smell of fresh air mixed with the tantalizing chill of the Ocean breeze. The whole place resembled a small settlement in the middle of a valley with the creek flowing through it. There was no one around when we arrived, but I was already informed about it. The owners were supposed to come in after dark. While starting to take the tour of the place, I was excited to be greeted by Kiwi, their funny little cat (reminded me of puss in boots). She came to my feet and looked at me and said 'Meow'. I was so amazed that I didn't have anything to reply to her. LOL! She kept following me wherever I went, and that was the best tour of the place you will get! I saw what a marvelous little place they made themselves. Kudos to Ohji and Brie for an amazing job!
There is a map of the place near the entrance which shows all the locations in the place - campsites, tipis, community kitchen, toilets (poopers), chicken and goat shack, etc. We took the first campsite close to the entrance/parking as we were too lazy to lug our stuff. Oh yeah, you park outside and take your gear with you, wherever you are going to be staying. The hosts arrived after dark and we did introductions and they soon went to their cabins. We used the community kitchen to cook some food and also got the (shared) fire-pit going with quite a few failed attempts. It was good times! Next day, we got an early hike to the Mill Creek Trailhead. It was a beautiful hike through the Redwoods and the creek - Medium level. If you are an avid hiker, you should do it. Its just a 5 min drive up north Route1 first exit right.
The place is so close to the ocean, that you can take a short stroll to the ocean for a view of the beautiful sunset. We had some good times with Ohji and his family and their cat kiwi and their beautiful dogs Delilah and Jack. We exchanged light conversations whilst sharing our food with each other. It was a very warm and comforting experience. Extra attractions - chicken and goat coupe, Hammock next to the creek, well stocked kitchen (just get your food), Rustic structures, old piano and drum set, oceanic view campsites, creek-side campsites, 20' and 16' Tipis, Cabana with Futons, Redwood room Gazebo. Ohji and Brie, thanks for having us!
P.S. Please save us a spot for summer. We'll be back! :)
