Ohia Hale
in Ohia Hale, HawaiiMinimalist - true - camping
The place was exactly what we were looking for: just a ground protected from the rain and surrounded by Nature. NOTHING ELSE. Colon was very friendly and helpful. The camping site is located inside his farm. There's a tarp that will protect you from the rain, portable toilets (bring your own toilet paper), and a fire place (good to use if its not raining). Some tips if you decide to stay there: (1) bring confortable sleeping pads, the terrain is flat but very rocky; (2) bring lights (headlamp and/or lanterns) cause its pretty dark over there, exactly how it's supposed to be to look at the stars! and; (3) if you decide to make fire, bring something to start a fire (old jornal and canola oil or alcohol will do), and to chop large pieces of wood into smaller ones (I believe Colin would provide you a axe or machete if you need). Highly recomended if you want to have a camping experience and not staying in a "camping resort".
