Coconut Camp
in Coconut Camp, Hawaiiin Ginkgo Petrified Forest State Park, Washington
It can get really windy, as there aren't a lot of features to break the wind or shelter your tent. My tent literally caved in on me while I was asleep. Otherwise it was a great campsite and extremely close to Frenchman Coulee.
in Salmon-Challis National Forest, Idaho
This is a nicely shaded campsite with a good amount of climbing/bouldering nearby.
in Van Damme State Park, California
Bring extra layers, you're in Northern California so it can get cold when the fog rolls in.
in Lassen Volcanic National Park, California
Manzanita Lake can still be pretty cold at the beginning of the camping season. There is often still snow part of the way up trails in the spring/early summer. You are still able to hike just be prepared with waterproof shoes!
in Yosemite National Park, California
This campsite is located within walking distance of Curry Village (Half Dome Village) and Happy Isles, where you can access the Mist Trail to Vernal Falls and Nevada Falls, as well as the John Muir Trail. This is a very popular campsite that is almost instantly booked solid when the reservations open, so be ready to book the minute the reservations open
