Pitch a tent in Eden
in 3tree, HawaiiA beautiful, open yet private spot set within a natural canopy of 4 coconut trees. The ground was grassy and even for our tent. The setup was great with a picnic table, cooler full of fresh water, clothes line, fire pit and out house. David was very friendly, quick with communication, and met us just after we had settled in. We enjoyed checking out the pretty stream nearby, and being surrounded by many fruit trees and birds. I'm sure we will be back, mahalo David!

Fisherman's Landing #1
in KAHAKAI FARMS CAMPGROUNDS, HawaiiPast trip
in Ohia Hale, HawaiiA great spot to chill and enjoy a beautiful sunset on the west side. Thanks to Colin and his wife for another awesome stay - its a wonderful lowkey spot and we got lucky with some solid weather and clear skies to view the stars.
Past trip
Intimate Bay View Bluffs
in KAHAKAI FARMS CAMPGROUNDS, HawaiiThis is a beautiful property on a gorgeous part of the island - it's a little surreal how stunning it is! Lovely mix of trees and grassland, cliffs, open ocean, all adding up to the perfect temperate climate with sounds of the ocean and wind. Erik and Johnelle were really friendly and above all, incredibly generous hosts. They were helpful, and laidback. We had privacy and felt at home to explore the beautiful surroundings. Their pups are super sweet too and we were lucky enough to have at least one doggo chilling out with us most of the time. Camping shower was a nice bonus, water was the perfect temperature. I can also see how this would be an amazing spot to fish, (saw a few honu off the coast feeding), and though we did not go down to the water this time around, it's nice to have that option when waters are calm-ish. Cannot recommend enough, we will definitely be back!
Past trip
Hamakua Cloudforest Waterfall
in The Kikala Waterfall Lodge, HawaiiBeautiful spot with a great view on a community farm. We had a ton of space and a picnic table at our campsite. It was rainy during our stay (cloud forest!) and the site has no trees to tie a tarp from, so I would reccomend bringing a standup canopy as a backup, if you prefer to cook and hang outside, though you could also take advantage of the farm's community center and its facilities! A very short walk to the gorgeous waterfall, which had a pool deep enough to swim in... super lovely. Axel was a very friendly and kind host! Would definitely reccommend, it's a peaceful spot!
Past trip
in Ohia Hale, HawaiiA very chill spot surrounded by mac nut trees. Colin was a great host, had a very large canopy set up in the case of rain which fit 2 2 person tents, our stuff and small grill, and he helped us get our fire going, which we enjoyed for many hours. Great sunset, and greeted by a couple pups in the morning - a great deal! The road was a bit rough up, but as reccomended just go very slow and look for potential bottoming out hazards!
Brittney hasn't gone on any trips yet.

Fisherman's Landing #1
in KAHAKAI FARMS CAMPGROUNDS, HawaiiAgain, this beautiful property did not disappoint! The whale watching spot (I believe it's called) just past the shower was upgraded with a huge beautiful rock fire pit (shields from wind), a perfectly prepared fire ready to light within it, and ample firewood stacked on the side! A tamped down area was great for the tent and the shower also got an upgrade with a wooden wall and grate (super refreshing after a hot hike and swim at pololu earlier in the day!). This spot is private, and offers up amazing views of cliffs and ocean for sunset and stargazing, with a little shelter from trees. We will be back! :)
