Site 3 - Bald Eagle Farm on the Patuxent
in Bald Eagle Farm on the Patuxent, MarylandHidden gem just outside dc
We loved our stay at Bald Eagle Farm! This site is truly a gem just 50 minutes outside D.C. It's such an easy weekend trip to get out of the city. The farm is gorgeous and offers tons of space to walk and explore. Yates was so accommodating and showed us to the site upon arrival, and also brought more firewood for the night. The site itself has a picnic table for shared meals, and a great view of the pond and farm. The site felt even more private than we expected. We also took a quick 2 min drive down the road to Robin Hill Winery for a couple of hours. I would definitely recommend staying at Bald Eagle Farm, it was such a great time!
Over Jordan Farm
in Rappahannock Rhapsody, VirginiaWhat an incredible place to stay! I brought five friends here for a quick weekend getaway out of the city. We stayed two nights, and had so much fun. Mike and Betsy were so accommodating. They even let us eat fresh eggs for breakfast! We camped in tents and had a perfect view of the field the sheep were in â given the time of year we saw tons of lambs. We spent Saturday hiking beyond the property to the Shenandoah National Park, and got on the Appalachian trail briefly.
The property is gorgeous, and Mike provided us with firewood for the entire weekend. We loved the views and the animals. Mike even gave us some great info about the land, livestock, and how the farm operates. The property and experience were even better than we anticipated. I would highly recommend Over Jordan Farm to anyone looking for a beautiful private campsite!
