Loved staying at Bear's Den. The parking is a little busy but people are constantly in and out (due to the overlook and nature trail) but we got some spots and it's a short walk to the site. Site 5 has plenty of room and is set back away from the other sites and trail. There is one bucket of wood provided per site and there is a fire pit and benches. Bears chase brewery was only .5 miles away with food, beer, music and views and there is a beautiful overlook in the back of the tent site. We brought our motorcycles here on a road trip and were fine driving down the gravel/dirt road to the parking lot. Highly recommend!

Amanda S.has mixed feelings towards this listing.
This was a great jumping off point to Asheville and truly only a 10 min drive to town. We booked the RV site but ended up giving it up to another group who was hoping to stay an extra night. The tent site is a short walk from parking, but was not as flat to lay a tent as the RV site/area. We had motorcycles and a trailer and I do not recommend coming here if you aren't an experienced motorcyclist or the area has experienced a lot of rain because there is a long gravel driveway with uneven ground to both the RV and tent site (which I knew about upon booking and am just trying to give others more details). If you do have a bike definitely get the RV site since it's a straight shot from the driveway. The tent site parking is up a steep hill on deep gravel and difficult to navigate if you don't have an adventure bike. Both sites are close to the hosts house, but tucked away for some privacy. Water and wood was provided and the port a potty was super clean. We saw a huge bear as well
Amanda hasn't gone on any trips yet.
