Secluded Desert Valley Cabin
in O'Shun's Orchard, CaliforniaI enjoyed this site so much the first time that I came back for a second visit, and plan on visiting again. It's secluded in a beautiful area. Off the beaten path, but not by too much. Makes for great stargazing if the conditions are right. Highly recommend.

Secluded Desert Valley Cabin
in O'Shun's Orchard, CaliforniaMe and my group of six absolutely loved this site and all agreed we would be coming back. We made it to the site with no issues by following Mike's directions. The site is quite isolated, meaning you don't have to worry about bothering any neighbors. The views from the site are great, with no signs of anyone else around. There site is fairly flat with plenty of spots to pitch tents. As anyone who camps in the desert knows, the sun can be brutal, which makes the permanent shade structure on the site invaluable. We came out for the perseid meteor shower and had an amazing show. Definitely recommend this site and we will definitely be back in the future.

Hooper Hollow
in Hooper Hollow, CaliforniaMy group of 9 and I really enjoyed our stay at Hooper Hollow. The hosts were quick to respond to my questions leading up to and during our visit, and greeted us and gave us a tour upon arrival. The site itself is beautiful, with gorgeous views of the rolling hills beyond. Firepit, firewood, BBQ, and table are all provided. One thing others have mentioned that I would reemphasize - the site is basically full exposure to the sun and I would encourage campers to bring their own shade. We brought 2 10x10 canopies and were very glad we did. Overall a great hipcamp spot!
Past trip
in Gypsy Springs Ranch, CaliforniaWe loved our stay at the gypsy camp! Prior to our trip, Rhonda was quick to respond to our questions and made sure we had everything we needed. When we arrived, Rhonda greeted us and gave us a tour. The site itself is beautiful, situated in an area of open desert. I love all the small knick-knacks Rhonda has added around the site, they add so much character. As others have mentioned, the campsite is next to Rhonda's house, but really feels private. The fireplace is great and just what we needed for the chilly nights. We didn't expect to use the trailer at all, but it was so quirky we couldn't help hanging out in there a bit at night. Lots of fun books to check out. It was also great to have a place inside to do dishes, etc. Speaking of dishes, Rhonda provides everything you need for your camp kitchen. We're avid campers and have all our own gear but it was really nice not having to worry about bringing any of it. Overall I would highly recommend the Gypsy Camp. It was the perfect base camp from which to explore the national park. I will definitely be coming back!
