Our property is close to town but far enough out that you feel secluded. We have wonderful dark nights with amazing views of stars. There is a fishing access a mile down the road, or you can hike to the river which is approximately 1000 feet to the river. The river isn't a real deep river, a lot of people use it to float on tubes, but it has been known to have some nice fish also. The area always gets afternoon wind gusts that happen daily and don't last long but something you'll want to be aware of.
On site we have available for rent 2 tiny houses and 4 Rv hook up spots. Our property also has a yurt, an additional tiny house, a skoolie and a motorhome.

We're located in four corners, across the street from Bozeman Hot Springs. Our sheep camp is less than 200 yards from their front door. It is the closest of any vacation rental to them. The area is semi-rural, featuring farms, neighbor and businesses. Big Sky resort is 42 miles, Bridger Bowl is 26 miles. Bozeman is 7 miles.
We're in rainbow subdivision. possibly Montana's oldest subdivision. We're on Lower Rainbow Road. In the summer we see some spectacular rainbows, many being double rainbows.
Enjoy what this 1-bedroom modern range camp has to offer. Forced air gas heat, Indoor and outdoor kitchen, Two Queen beds, 3/4 bath. Clothes closet and drawers Pantry, Gas range and oven. convection oven and microwave, Keurig coffee maker. Refrigerator/ freezer, Solo fire pit with Adirondak chairs, hardwoods for cooking and softwoods for just general hanging around the campfire, Treager smoker grill, and a Weber propane grill.
If there are more than two people in this camp, it's a small space, and you'd best be the courteous kind. This sheep camp is the real deal. It was made for people who work on the range. Cowboys, sheepherders, and such. As such, you will need to be a bit Western in attitude to fully enjoy it. It is very efficient but taa small space. It works fine as a place to stay, especially for one or two people.
The basic normal things are intuitive. But for using things like the outdoor kitchen, the range oven and awning you may need a quick lesson on how those work. We are happy to teach you. If you want the experience or ambience of using the woodstove then we absolutely require that we instruct you on how to use it first. Using it requires your attention. Before TV and other modern distractions, the fire was the center of our attention and social environment. Giving your stoves fire attention then was easy. It still requires your attention if you choose to use it here.
You can't use the wood stove when it's warm out because it would get too ho in the camp. The fire pit is always allowed.
This unique property provides guests with Wi-Fi, TV, Stereo an iron and ironing board. It has forced-air gas heat for a comfortable stay.
After your day of adventure, take a soak in the hot springs, snuggle up in your nice comfortable bed and that's a very good day.

The space
Glamping at its best! Luxury bedding, down comforters, plush mattresses and cozy decor. Outside there's a firepit and several separate areas to relax and hang out. There is also an 125+ year old root cellar that is made in to a very special protected area for your meals — like a romantic dinner.
Guest access
Parking is right outside of the property. Guests have their own gate in the white picketed fence. The access is flat on grass and there is maybe 150 feet between where you park and the glamping site.
Other things to note
Guest stays at their own risk. There’s a creek, rope-swing, insects, trees to climb and many more things that could be hazardous if not respected. Everyone in your party is responsible for staying safe by being careful and responsible. Parents are responsible for minors. Guests are fully responsible for any pet they bring.
Might be a good idea to bring boots for walking through the morning dew in the grass.

We have a variety of options that should suit just about anyone. We are near Yellowstone National Park as well as Bozeman, MT which offers all types of recreational opportunities e.g. hiking, fishing, climbing, skiing, cycling and running trails.
VanGoBoon is the perfect "Pull-in for the Night" as well as week-long stays! Most of our sites are SELF-CONTAINED. We have 4 sites that have electric and water hookups. (20,30,50amp)
The lawn area has horseshoes, frisbee golf, and corn toss. We mostly offer dry campsites for overnight stays for vans, tents or RVs . Most sites are on concrete slabs so they are level and the property has grass areas with trees as well.
FYI: Great site if you like trains! An important part of Montana’s commerce is transportation by rail so there will be highway and train noise. If you are a light sleeper, you may want to have noise-cancelation devices handy.

The Monarch Cabin sits at an elevation of approximately 8,600 feet on the west side of Elkhorn Peak. It is surrounded by more than 300,000 acres of public land with 80,000 acres of that being designated as a roadless area. The nearest human inhabitance is in the Historic Town of Elkhorn situated a bit more than 3 miles to the south and a drop of about 2,000 feet of elevation.
During the Summer, enjoy hiking, mountain biking, and trail running on maintained and unmaintained trails. Climb peaks with incredible views and fish in mountain lakes. Spring time provides opportunity to experience the splendor of the wild flower season. There are so many flowers that the whole area is alive with the aroma and multitude of colors. If you are lucky, you may see new born wildlife such as deer, elk, mountain goats, fox, moose and many others.
Winter time lends to incredible back country skiing, split boarding, and snowshoeing. The sunsets are typically spectacular while enjoying the views and solitude. Book for a time of full moon and with a clear sky a moonlight ski or walk is amazing.
From the West there is the Muskrat/Tizer Lakes trail which is a maintained, designated hiking/biking trail. To the south is an unmaintained, extremely rough forest service road leading to the cabin. To the east there is a trail to the top of Elkhorn Peak and to Crow Peak, the two highest peaks in the Elkhorn mountains. To the north there are trails leading to most anywhere in the Elkhorn Mountains. Tizer lakes are only about 3 miles away on an easy maintained trail. From there there are too many destinations to name. Hiking and biking is limited only by one's own ambition and skills. The Elkhorn endurance run is a well known event that has it's longer race route run right through the property.
At the end of a hard day of adventure, relax in the wood fired sauna and enjoy the amazing sunsets. If you are lucky, you might even hear elk bugling in the valley below (September/October).
Most people access the cabin by hiking, biking, snowshoes or ski's. If one choose to drive, a 4 WD truck would be a must and would still be difficult. Areas above the cabin are for non-motorized use only.

While exploring Helena, we recommend the Walking Mall and the lower end of Last Chance Gulch for shopping and dining. You can also do a self guided tour of the Capitol building and then ride the tour train through Helena to get a quick history lesson. If you want to do something outside, we suggest Houser Lake at Lakeside with a bar and grill, a beach, fire pit, volley ball, etc. There is also guided boat rides at Gates of the Mountains on Holter Lake (about 20 miles towards Great Falls). If you are looking to go hiking, Mount Helena is a nice hike, but maybe a bit much for small kiddos, unless you have a backpack. We're located in four corners, across the street from Bozeman Hot Springs. Our sheep camp is less than 200 yards from their front door. It is the closest of any vacation rental to them. The area is semi-rural, featuring farms, neighbor and businesses. Big Sky resort is 42 miles, Bridger Bowl is 26 miles. Bozeman is 7 miles.
We're in rainbow subdivision. possibly Montana's oldest subdivision. We're on Lower Rainbow Road. In the summer we see some spectacular rainbows, many being double rainbows.
Enjoy what this 1-bedroom modern range camp has to offer. Forced air gas heat, Indoor and outdoor kitchen, Two Queen beds, 3/4 bath. Clothes closet and drawers Pantry, Gas range and oven. convection oven and microwave, Keurig coffee maker. Refrigerator/ freezer, Solo fire pit with Adirondak chairs, hardwoods for cooking and softwoods for just general hanging around the campfire, Treager smoker grill, and a Weber propane grill.
If there are more than two people in this camp, it's a small space, and you'd best be the courteous kind. This sheep camp is the real deal. It was made for people who work on the range. Cowboys, sheepherders, and such. As such, you will need to be a bit Western in attitude to fully enjoy it. It is very efficient but taa small space. It works fine as a place to stay, especially for one or two people.
The basic normal things are intuitive. But for using things like the outdoor kitchen, the range oven and awning you may need a quick lesson on how those work. We are happy to teach you. If you want the experience or ambience of using the woodstove then we absolutely require that we instruct you on how to use it first. Using it requires your attention. Before TV and other modern distractions, the fire was the center of our attention and social environment. Giving your stoves fire attention then was easy. It still requires your attention if you choose to use it here.
You can't use the wood stove when it's warm out because it would get too ho in the camp. The fire pit is always allowed.
This unique property provides guests with Wi-Fi, TV, Stereo an iron and ironing board. It has forced-air gas heat for a comfortable stay.
After your day of adventure, take a soak in the hot springs, snuggle up in your nice comfortable bed and that's a very good day.

Parking is right outside of the property. Guests have their own gate in the white picketed fence. The access is flat on grass and there is maybe 150 feet between where you park and the glamping site.
Other things to note
Guest stays at their own risk. There’s a creek, rope-swing, insects, trees to climb and many more things that could be hazardous if not respected. Everyone in your party is responsible for staying safe by being careful and responsible. Parents are responsible for minors. Guests are fully responsible for any pet they bring.

The lawn area has horseshoes, frisbee golf, and corn toss. We mostly offer dry campsites for overnight stays for vans, tents or RVs . Most sites are on concrete slabs so they are level and the property has grass areas with trees as well.
FYI: Great site if you like trains! An important part of Montana’s commerce is transportation by rail so there will be highway and train noise. If you are a light sleeper, you may want to have noise-cancelation devices handy.

The Monarch Cabin sits at an elevation of approximately 8,600 feet on the west side of Elkhorn Peak. It is surrounded by more than 300,000 acres of public land with 80,000 acres of that being designated as a roadless area. The nearest human inhabitance is in the Historic Town of Elkhorn situated a bit more than 3 miles to the south and a drop of about 2,000 feet of elevation.
During the Summer, enjoy hiking, mountain biking, and trail running on maintained and unmaintained trails. Climb peaks with incredible views and fish in mountain lakes. Spring time provides opportunity to experience the splendor of the wild flower season. There are so many flowers that the whole area is alive with the aroma and multitude of colors. If you are lucky, you may see new born wildlife such as deer, elk, mountain goats, fox, moose and many others.
Winter time lends to incredible back country skiing, split boarding, and snowshoeing. The sunsets are typically spectacular while enjoying the views and solitude. Book for a time of full moon and with a clear sky a moonlight ski or walk is amazing.
From the West there is the Muskrat/Tizer Lakes trail which is a maintained, designated hiking/biking trail. To the south is an unmaintained, extremely rough forest service road leading to the cabin. To the east there is a trail to the top of Elkhorn Peak and to Crow Peak, the two highest peaks in the Elkhorn mountains. To the north there are trails leading to most anywhere in the Elkhorn Mountains. Tizer lakes are only about 3 miles away on an easy maintained trail. From there there are too many destinations to name. Hiking and biking is limited only by one's own ambition and skills. The Elkhorn endurance run is a well known event that has it's longer race route run right through the property.
At the end of a hard day of adventure, relax in the wood fired sauna and enjoy the amazing sunsets. If you are lucky, you might even hear elk bugling in the valley below (September/October).
Most people access the cabin by hiking, biking, snowshoes or ski's. If one choose to drive, a 4 WD truck would be a must and would still be difficult. Areas above the cabin are for non-motorized use only.

Just 10 minutes from Livingston, 40 minutes to Bozeman, and one hour from Yellowstone Park, our eco-farm retreat offers a blissfully quiet setting with amazing views, incredible stargazing, and up-close encounters with our animals.
Unwind on the deck at the patio table and chairs or take a stroll around the property to visit our birds and sheep. The site is set on open prairie land, just a short 50-yard walk from your parking spot, and includes your very own luxury, odor-free composting toilet.
Drinking water is provided, but please note there is no shower at this time. A solar-powered generator is available for charging devices or powering the hot plate for cooking.
I live on-site in the main house with my wife, Magali, and one or both of us may be present during your stay.

A small cabin sleeps 4 with 2 queen beds and room to stake a tent or park a camper. Sits on 6 acres with a creek bed under large trees and overlooks a meadow. Includes an outhouse, potable water, grill, picnic table and a "smokeless" fire pit. Dishes, utensils, firewood and bedding included. Come stay in MT City; only 5 miles from all historic Helena has to offer! 4 restaurants/bars within walking distance(.5 mi.). 3 large lakes w/in 10 miles with beaches, boating and sight seeing opportunities; the Missouri river within 15 miles for fishing, boating, paddle boarding, hiking and biking. Come relax! Sleeps 4 in beds. Additional guests allowed with permission and fee (tents and/or or campers).
While exploring Helena, we recommend the Walking Mall and the lower end of Last Chance Gulch for shopping and dining. You can also do a self guided tour of the Capitol building and then ride the tour train through Helena to get a quick history lesson. If you want to do something outside, we suggest Houser Lake at Lakeside with a bar and grill, a beach, fire pit, volley ball, etc. There is also guided boat rides at Gates of the Mountains on Holter Lake (about 20 miles towards Great Falls). If you are looking to go hiking, Mount Helena is a nice hike, but maybe a bit much for small kiddos, unless you have a backpack. If you'd like additional suggestions, please don't hesitate to reach out. Hope you enjoy your stay!

Title says it all. I stayed here in the cabin as a solo traveler. There is enough room for 3-4 people comfortably in the cabin. After several weeks of travel it was nice to have a table, chairs, and easy access to the very clean bathroom and shower area which was nice and warm, even when the temperatures started to drop. Having a little shop located on site was very convenient, and I was pleasantly surprised at how developed Ennis, MT is. Try the restaurant next door, the Continental Divide. It was fantastic. This spot was a perfect jumping off point for trips into Yellowstone and Tetons. Thank you for a great stay, I would absolutely come back in the future.

1 night at The DET Place Hideaway
McKenzie was great. She was very quick to reply to questions and super accommodating. Our check in time changed a couple of times d/t unforeseen delays getting to Montana - but she was really easy to work with and understanding.
The 5th wheel was great. Lots of space and well kept. Bedrooms were a nice surprise (bigger than appeared in the pics). Shower was hot and plenty large enough for me (6 ft and 245lbs) to clean up. Water and heat were included and welcome.
The view of the mountains out of the camper door were a pleasant way to wake up and her property was secluded enough and well kept. Easy instructions and only about an hour north of Bozeman.
Would def stay with her again if we made it back up this way.

The tent was amazing! It was the perfect mix of wilderness and comfort. I had my 4 yr old daughter and we had a blast. Endless rocks and boulders to climb on and plenty of privacy. We heard an elk bugling on the second the morning as well, creating quite the experience.
We also took a quick drive to the Hardware Cafe just a few miles down the road for some comfort food.
We will definitely be staying again next year!

Weekend Trip to The Homestead
We wanted to go somewhere, but had to be super close to home. Enter an Elkhorn Mountain adventure, just 20 minutes from our door in Helena, down the highway to Clancy to the Homestead Camp.
We love camping ⛺️ and yet I didn’t feel up to all of the work required. And I’m really very extremely tired and wanted to sleep well.
I found this gorgeous getaway on Hip-camp and with the hard work done, all I had to do was eat, drink, read, and sleep. And boy, did I sleep! Multiple times a day even!
We watched clouds rolls by until the sky darkened and it was the stars’ turn. ✨ We fell asleep to rain drops kissing the canvas and woke to the rattle of thunder of deep in the mountains. ⛰️

Weekend Trip to The DET Place Hideaway
When I pulled up to Mackenzie‘s RV, I was a little dismayed to see it parked next to the house but then we met Mackenzie and changed our minds. She was lovely and the RV was so nice and comfortable. My kids loved it. We had a bonfire and walked around and saw the horses. It was a perfect place to stay. We spent time at Canyon ferry the Madison River. This spot OSS really a gem!

Such a great place, that we ended up extending our stay 4 more days! Host is very helpful, friendly, and accommodating. Great communication. Plenty of space for me and my 3 kiddos. And they loved getting to see the animals (horses, cows, deer and a couple cats). Will definitely be back again! 5 stars highly recommend.

It doesn’t really feel like you’re camping since you’re right in a neighborhood but it was exactly what we needed - a safe, clean, affordable place close to the interstate to spend the night. The bus is very cute and cozy and the bed is comfy. The outhouse is clean. It was the perfect spot to play a game, have a bite to eat, and get some rest before heading out in the morning for a long drive home. Emily is super welcoming and friendly and made sure we had everything we needed to be comfortable.

Absolutely loved this campsite! It really couldn't be a more perfect set-up with all necessities, hiking trails near campsites, private yet easy to access and a short drive to Helena, plus a great spot to stay with pets! Such a beautiful location & the sunsets in the evening are 5 star rating, if you're looking for a place to relax and unwind it doesn't get any better than this. I would definitely stay again and I would recommend Jamie's campsite to anyone looking a place to stay in the area.

We loved our stay at the Casey tent! Super cute and unique stay. The land it is on is beautiful and it is not far from Helena which was nice. We stayed one night but wish it was a couple more. I will say, don’t take the warning for the two track road lightly. Our minivan didn’t make it the whole one mile to the tent (we didn’t know what to expect for the drive on the property)

Weekend Trip to Wildhorse
This is a fun way to rough it close to town without an enormous price tag. You must be willing to take a tiny trek to the ports-toilet, but the bed was comfortable. No one bothered us. Animals were adorable and not bothersome whatsoever. The real plus was the weather was very hot and the little portable air conditioner worked wonderfully to keep us comfortable and able to sleep well through the heat. Is it the Taj Mahal? Nope, but pretty darn close tho….. I enjoyed my stay very much.

This was such a comfortable and convenient stay for me! My arrival was delayed and even though I hadn’t arranged a late check in ahead of time (whoops!), I was able to call the after-hours number to be let in to the cabin. I was incredibly grateful and they were so kind about it! The bed was super comfy and the bathrooms were close by and immaculate. The mini fridge and AC unit were nice perks! I will definitely stay again if I’m passing through the area again. Thanks again!

Missouri River Campground
This is our second time tent camping in this campground. Not all sites can accommodate tents so check the site descriptions carefully before booking an online reservation. Small RVs will fit in all sites. Picnic tables, fire pits, shared bear boxes, vault toilets, and potable water. Firewood and ice available for purchase from the camp hosts. Lots of mosquitoes.
