The RV Park has 10 sites with full hookups except for campsite 10 which only has electric and water. These sites are pull through and most can accommodate large RVs. This is a dog friendly park, please keep your dog on a leash and pick up after your furry friend. Recreation Opportunities Close to the RV Park. The RV Park is within a 15 minute hike of the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest. The Boulder Hot Springs is approximately a 2-mile drive from the RV Park where you can soak in their pools always heated with thermal water. Fishing access to the Boulder River is a short drive from the RV Park. Access to off road recreation is approximately 2 miles going north or south. Helena Mt. the capital, is a 40-minute drive. Butte Mt. is about a 50-minute drive where you can see all the historic mining era. Boulder MT (RV Park) is halfway between Yellowstone NP and Glacier NP. Wildlife is abundant with mule deer and whitetails. Certain times of the year elk hang out in the hayfields which are adjacent to the park. Views of the mountains are very nice. During the Summer, enjoy hiking, mountain biking, and trail running on maintained and unmaintained trails. Climb peaks with incredible views and fish in mountain lakes. Spring time provides opportunity to experience the splendor of the wild flower season. There are so many flowers that the whole area is alive with the aroma and multitude of colors. If you are lucky, you may see new born wildlife such as deer, elk, mountain goats, fox, moose and many others. Winter time lends to incredible back country skiing, split boarding, and snowshoeing. The sunsets are typically spectacular while enjoying the views and solitude. Book for a time of full moon and with a clear sky a moonlight ski or walk is amazing. From the West there is the Muskrat/Tizer Lakes trail which is a maintained, designated hiking/biking trail. To the south is an unmaintained, extremely rough forest service road leading to the cabin. To the east there is a trail to the top of Elkhorn Peak and to Crow Peak, the two highest peaks in the Elkhorn mountains. To the north there are trails leading to most anywhere in the Elkhorn Mountains. Tizer lakes are only about 3 miles away on an easy maintained trail. From there there are too many destinations to name. Hiking and biking is limited only by one's own ambition and skills. The Elkhorn endurance run is a well known event that has it's longer race route run right through the property. At the end of a hard day of adventure, relax in the wood fired sauna and enjoy the amazing sunsets. If you are lucky, you might even hear elk bugling in the valley below (September/October). Most people access the cabin by hiking, biking, snowshoes or ski's. If one choose to drive, a 4 WD truck would be a must and would still be difficult. Areas above the cabin are for non-motorized use only.

We really enjoyed our time on this property. It is a true taste of off grid living. It is not an in town rental, but instead your experience will be far from town with the comforts you still enjoy. Elk will keep you company when you wake up in the morning. The bathroom has a unique experience that just has to be seen to understand that is very enjoyable. The host provides a very hospitable experience. I would highly recommend and also recommend enjoying all the back roads that are accessible from this cabin.

We had a late arrival, and an early morning, but after we settled in, this was such a dreamy stay! It was an adventure to get there in the dark, and we were careful on the rocky road up to the spot. Our host recommends a higher clearance, which is necessary. The sky is so big up there! Wow! The stars!!! The tipi was very cozy, and the bed was super comfy. ... And the morning - the coyotes yipping in the distance, a screech owl, the expansive view of the mountains in every direction, sunset colours with the tipi in the foreground... it was truly a one of kind experience. Our only regrets is not having more time relax and enjoy, or use all the amenities, like the outdoor shower (it has hot water!). Our host was so wonderfully accommodating as we scrambled to make arrangements. Thank you for everything! And for sharing this beautiful chunk of Montana with us. (And ps. We loved Anaconda too... such a charmer of a town!)

This was an amazing camping experience. We were the only campers so had the whole grassy area to ourselves. It is right on the river and there are a few other public river access spots nearby so we checked out all of them. We biked up the mountain and around town as well — there is a school playground a block or two away that my kids (ages 4-9) liked. The spot is at the end of a small town (Melrose)—so not in the middle of nowhere, just FYI. The piggies were the best part! They’re such funny creatures and we enjoyed getting to know them. Holly is such a nice person and obviously cares about her guests and pets! Definitely recommend.

We had a great overnight stay at Boulder Creek Lodge! The camp site was easy to find and navigate. The site has amazing shower and toilet facilities that were very clean and great to use. When it comes to a unique outdoor experience, camping near Anaconda Smoke Stack State Park will have you feeling grateful for the greenery you see there today. This historical landmark, listed in the National Register of Historic Places, is the result of the town's industrious past, making it a compelling destination for history buffs and camping enthusiasts alike.

Following the closure of the smelter in 1980, cleanup efforts on the Superfund site commenced in the 1980s and are still ongoing. Due to public safety concerns and liability issues, the Atlantic Richfield Company limited public access to the vicinity around the stack, only granting entrance during officially sanctioned tours or events.

Despite the anticipated demolition of the smelter and surrounding buildings on Smelter Hill as part of the Superfund cleanup, local Anaconda residents refused to let the smokestack share a similar fate.
