1800s Old West Camping
Very cool location; close to town and services but with a very remote feel. Excellent, level camping space close to a running-water bathroom with a shower(!)
The Ghost Town element was pretty adorable, but was not the primary draw for us.
The hosts were nice, and gave a charming walkthrough of the “historic” site.

1800s Old West Camping
We had a fun stay in the unique ghost town in Montana on our way to Yellowstone. When we arrived we found out we got a tour of the town; which included a "spirited" paranormal twist! We stayed in a nice level field with breathtaking views. It was perfect.
The only words of advice...please fill the potholes as it is tough for a RV to get there without lots of rockin and rollin.
Would recommend to anyone.

Ghost Town-Literally
This place is awesome! Scary but awesome. We stayed in a tent do didn't experience anything too crazy while there but we did see some supernatural experiences occur while touting the town and later that evening during the ghost hunt--super scary. Overall, we had a blast there and are so thankful for Michael; he was our go to guy for everything.

Old buildings AND farm animals!
Loved touring the old buildings and playing soccer in the big field next to our site. Kids loved helping herd the ducks and chicken into the coops. Perfect family get away!

Gunslinger Gulch Cordwood
Friendly community, fun photos
The site is conveniently located near Anaconda, small hiking trails, and can accommodate different forms of camping, including RV stays, cabin visits, or, with permission, some outdoor barbecues.
More than a campsite or photoshoot set, Gunslinger Gulch is for meeting friends, sharing stories, and ghost tours with the staff.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to 1800’s Old West Camping. The buildings of the town were so interesting to see and we loved the friendly farm animals. All around it was such a unique experience and I only wish we would have talked to Karen more about the history of the buildings and her animals.

I had a great stay at 1800 Old West Camping. There was more than enough space to set up my tent. The bathroom is charming.

Intriguing place.
Very unique and interesting place. Feels like a ghost town as there weren’t very many people around. We had fun petting the goats and going in some of the buildings that weren’t occupied with visitors. Would like to have learned more about the history of the individual buildings.

Great stay!
Great place for me and the fam to stay!
Karen and her family are very accommodating and heard some fun ghost stories. Clean restrooms and they also offer a tasty breakfast which was great. I would go back and rent out one of the building structures instead of camping next time because it looked fun to stay in the those.

Clean campground near Anaconda
Cute place, clean bathroom with a shower. The site that we had was large and it was relatively quiet. We never really met the camp host, but she seemed nice. There isn't really anything "to do", per se, at the Gunslinger Gulch. Nothing stood out as outstanding, but it was a good site and experience.
There are lakes and hiking in the area. Philipsburg is a nice place to go for a beer. Interesting part of Montana.

Unique spot with great hiking
Really unique spot, fascinating to see the historic buildings, the owners are very kind and will tour you around the property. Great for kids to bike around and explore. The hills behind camp look like fantastic backcountry hiking. Full bathroom available, but no shade in the campsites. Super sweet livestock to get friendly with!

Unique beautiful camping experience
Very cool camping experience. Breakfast in the saloon was great! We camped in a tent outside and it was lovely - amazing night sky views. Fairly quiet except for a few other campers yelling throughout the night (sound really carries in this valley!). We saw a deer in the morning. Highly recommend, it was such a unique experience.

My husband an I camped in our little travel trailer for 2 nights. No hookups, but there is a fully plumbed bathroom. This is a very cool rustic place. The old west buildings are incredible. There are lots of friendly farm animals. We recommend this place.

Great spot. We would stay again dry camping with our travel trailer if passing through. Our kids loved exploring the property before we left town on our next leg of our road trip. The property owners were super friendly and communication was great.
We would recommend this spot to anyone looking for a different kind of RV stay from the norm, off the beaten path. Glad we checked it out, and wished we had spent a little more time there.

Old West without the outhouse!
Our family of seven had a great time spending the weekend here! We tent camped and were appreciative of the full bath house with claw foot tub and shower, toilet and sink. No icky outhouses at this Old West camp. The hosts are friendly and welcoming. They took the time to show us some unoccupied guest houses, let our kids feed the chickens and pet the goats and horses. The goats are so friendly, I wanted one for a pet!
We enjoyed walking the grounds and snapping photos of all the buildings and I was really impressed with the rental units. Those we walked into had nice large beds, fireplaces, mini fridges and full, nicely done bathrooms. If not a tent camper I would totally recommend checking out their guest cabins. Our kids did puzzles in what we called “the saloon” and enjoyed talking with host Karen about the area and wild life. We recommend and would definitely go back again.

What a treat!
What an amazing treat! 1800s Old West Camping offers a unique take on the camping experience. Where else can you find a saloon/dining room that used to house a midwife and her eleven children? Or wake up to three goats, the biggest thinking he’s a dog and loves being petted? And explore the site, sharing it with chickens, turkeys, horses, a pony, and a donkey? Karen has a story about each animal - and which and how they were rescued.

Neat little town, lots of eclectic old buildings on a little animal farm. We loved looking through the old buildings redone inside for guests to stay in with claw foot tubs and lots of old town charm. Would definitely recommend for a couple on a weekend retreat.
