Nice, open pasture land offering a quiet and peaceful place to relax off grid. Plenty of space for large rigs, with limited shade available. The copper queen saloon is nearby and has good food and reliable internet access. We attended the Old Salt festival during our stay.

Was a nice campground. Relatively level. Wide open spaces but there are no designated spots so you just park wherever.
Very quiet. Sign on 271 turnoff would be nice as it was a bit hard to find. I was there for the Old Salt festival and there was a shuttle going to and from the festival that dropped you right off at the festival grounds. I believe the drivers name was Martin. He was great and really worked long hours to accommodate the festival goers.

Great camp spot with many level sites next to trees. It’s at a rodeo grounds and you’re camping in a pasture, which is awesome. Definitely recommend, it’s a beautiful spot!

The hip camp is a grassy field / cow pasture next to the Helmville rodeo grounds. We had the entire area to ourselves. Beautiful views, quiet. Outhouse was clean. We didn't see a single cow, must have been in a different pasture. Plenty of cow pies, so watch your step.

Such a beautiful place! Initially the reservations was for me, but my parents ended up staying there and I ended up camping at the venue so I could volunteer. They were very happy with the set up, and Jacob was super helpful and quick to respond to my questions about them using the reservation instead. Gorgeous place, kind and honest people, highly recommend.

Peaceful and quiet with pastoral views. Some shade trees. No water or power but as we are self contained not a problem. Lots of room for big rigs.. Would stay again

This is a great spot, it's the rodeo grounds so it's easy to find and easy to access. Lots of room and some shade trees. We didn't need water or power so it was fine, but we had a nice campfire. I would recommend it, and we'll stay there again. The Copper Queen in Helmville had great food and was nearby.

We had a nice and quiet stay at Jacob's camp. This is a pretty open ranch pasture area just outside of Helmville, Mt. There are a few cottonwood trees and willows. Wonderful view looking out from the valley with lots of space between campers.
You can grab a burger and beverage at tge Copper Queen bar which is a few minutes away.

It’s a great spot, worked well for attending the Old Salt Festival. Gorgeous sunsets and moon rises. Is toasty since it’s a field with a few trees, but not a huge deal for typical June weather. Easy to find, had clear directions and a sign. The valley is beautiful!

I ended up not staying at the Geary Ranch. I ended up in the festival grounds. I don’t mind paying for the spot on the Geary ranch as they are awesome people and their place is beautiful. I’m somewhat of a local so I know the area well.

My boyfriend and I were traveling through Montana and found this spot. The reviews seemed pretty good so we were excited to stay here for one night. I think the timing of our arrival had an impact on our experience. We got to the site a little after 10 pm and it was dark. There was no clear signage as to where Hipcampers were supposed to go or set up camp. The place they say to go if you have questions was closed by this time and we didn’t have service to reach out and ask for more information. We got to the location and there was no one else on the site. We weren’t sure where to go so we followed a dirt road/path that I would recommend only a 4x4 go down. We didn’t really feel safe because it was so unclear of what was going on. Maybe if we arrived earlier in the day it would’ve been better. We personally wouldn’t recommend staying here. We ended up finding a campground 30-40 minuets down the main road and set up camp there. There were designated sites, fire rings, and picnic tables.

This was a great place to stay very peaceful and quiet. Surrender by cows running around was nice to watch. They did rub on my trailer and knock my motorcycle over so make sure everything is sturdy but this was a fabulous place.

Jacob's place was easy to find with lots of flat space to find a spot. There were 20+ other campers with RVs and it didn't feel crowded. Great stay.
