Can’t express how great a host Ethan was last night. Easy communication leading up to our stay, nice property and we were visited by a mom and baby moose. Would highly recommend staying here Quiet, safe, 5 Stars.

We loved camping at Ethan's Hideaway! We cancelled our 2nd week at a local municipal campground because of highway noise and we are so pleased that we did. Ethan's spot is serene, wooded and while on a residential gravel road, hours would often go by without any cars passing by. The area is very sparsely populated, it felt like it was just us out there in the woods. While the feel is remote, we were still close enough to the city that a quick drive took us to local trails and in to town to visit friends & pick up groceries, etc. Ethan was welcoming and was always available to answer questions or offer assistance. We enjoyed the firepit and wood he provided. If we return to Anchorage with our camper, we will re-visit his Hideaway!

Weekend Trip to Darell B.’s Magical Mountain

We were absolutely thrilled with Darell’s cabin. It was so cute and cozy with everything needed to make for a comfortable stay. It has a great view and the hosts are incredibly accommodating. They allowed us to use their personal grill when we arrived because the city had a burn ban put into effect the day we arrived and we couldn’t cook over the fire pit. They also allow dogs and even put a towel to dry our lab off with before we brought her inside. We will definitely be returning in the future.

This place was the perfect spot to stay- gorgeous, well maintained, quiet, and secure. Ethan is definitely a five star host. He was welcoming, gracious, and helpful. Would definitely recommend & stay again!

Lulu’s is an absolutely beautiful location! Sitting right on the Knik River with Mountain View’s all around. The land feels magical. So relaxing and renewed my energy. Whether camping in the meadow or one of the beautiful glamping tents Lulu’s is an experience one won’t forget. Laura is an amazing host.

Weekend Trip to Creekside Campground

We stayed here this last weekend for our anniversary/Father’s Day. We really enjoyed the quiet relaxing weekend. Spot #1 was able to accommodate our 36ft toy hauler. Beautiful are area along side a creek. We were able to see the train go by, which we enjoyed. There was water and electric hookups at a very reasonable price. Our dogs were welcome. The camp hosts are exceptional. Very helpful . We would highly recommend and plan on returning when possible

We had a really great time. We had spot number 4 I believe and put our travel trailer there. It was right uphill from the creek. Caught four little grayling. Jeff and his family were very pleasant. Power, water, fire pit and a nice picnic table. Very clean, nice gravel pad and easy access to Willow.

The directions on Hip Camp to his property have to be changed- they are incomplete. Flat graveled area amidst the birch trees with water and electric. Darling family have fenced in chickens and ducks that they help you to feed and will show you the creek. Cassette toilet and outside shower stall- concrete standing base, housed in small beautifully hand made wooden building. Fee for dump, large rigs would not fit. Local bush plane airstrip near and Alaska Trains run next to property.

Our host met us upon arrival and was very helpful and welcoming. Great place to camp away from town but within minutes of all Anchorage has to offer. Very accommodating and friendly.

Weekend Trip to Lulu's Glamping on the Knik River

Great property with great views. Hard to beat being right on the river. Close to some goods hikes as well. Property is very well equipped. BBQ, pots, pans, utensils, coffee machine, hot water, shower, and clean toilets. You can also "rent" a solo stove for campfires. I say rent but it comes with a bundle of wood and starters so it's basically free. Host Lulu was quick with communication and very helpful with anything we needed. She even let us barrow a few things during our stay. Would definitely recommend staying at this awesome property.

Very large field, surrounded by tall trees so feels private. No issues in or out. We were the only ones this night so just perfect.

We had a great time at the Glacier Breeze site. Beautiful views, level spot, nice picnic table and Fire ring. Our kids had plenty of room to roam and ride bikes. Would recommend!

A nice open spot, tucked away in between quite a few lakes. Not very difficult to find if you're not from the area. The hosts were more than accommodating, and were very responsive to any questions we had. The outhouse and access to well water was an added convenience. You can tent camp, which we did, or rent one of their campers on the premises. If you want an easy time, and your choice of a lake on a sunny day check this spot out!

We had a wonderful experience at this peaceful lakeside campsite. The setting is serene and scenic — ideal for a relaxing getaway. What truly stood out was the hospitality of the hosts. They were warm, communicative, and genuinely invested in making sure our stay was comfortable. From the moment we arrived, they offered assistance, answered questions, and provided thoughtful touches that made the experience feel both personal and welcoming. We chose to set up our own tent rather than stay in one of the on-site rental tents, and the space was perfect — flat, clean, and easy to access. We also purchased firewood on-site for only $7, and the hosts went the extra mile by including a fire starter, lighter, and materials to help get the fire going quickly and easily. Those small details made a big difference. The campsite was well-maintained and equipped with everything we needed. Their dog, Nugget, added a fun and friendly presence — well-behaved and full of personality. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a well-hosted, scenic retreat with outstanding service and attention to detail. We look forward to returning and getting a chance to stay in one of their own tent for that experience! ^.^>

The last 2 years we were still mentioned in the top 10 with some pretty stiff competition. Eagle River South Fork trail with stunning views of Eagle and Symphony lakes is a short bike ride away. Breathtaking Barbara Falls is in our valley 10mins away. You hike up to the falls and feels its breath. Our Mountain views at 2000' elevation in the alpine forest with the 7000' snow covered peaks at the back of the valley will awe you. Morning coffee on your private deck alone is worth the trip. We know you will love our little mountain get away. I came to Alaska in the 90's with the Coast Guard. It was always my dream to come back. Alaska has a hold on you no other place possesses. That’s excellent news for nature lovers, because this place is purely for recreation and appreciating the outdoors. Its unique landscape is flat and full of lakes with magnificent, clear waters, surrounded by untouched forest.
