Camp Farm is a small organic homestead/farm in Hope, AK. Our micro-campground offers peaceful off-grid camping. Stay in our 16' yurt, or bring your tent/fully contained RV. Our property is dry, so you'll need to supply your own water, but you are welcome to use our on-site outhouse. There is a small fire pit and communal outdoor kitchen space with a propane 2-burner stove for guest use. We do not allow visiting pets; however, there are dogs on site who love belly rubs.
With quick access to the Resurrection Pass Trailhead, Wagon Trail, Gull Rock, and Hope Point trails and only 2.5 miles from historic downtown Hope, there is a lot to see and do here! Hope is home to about 200 year-round residents and boasts some of the rowdiest white water rafting (5+ rapids on 6-Mile Creek), the most scenic hiking, and the best trail/mountain bike riding in the state. If you're a foodie, cruise 2.5 miles into "town" for a bite at one of 4 locally owned restaurants or a coffee at one of the coffee shops. Enjoy live music every summer weekend at one of 3 different music venues.
Hope does not have a gas station, so please plan ahead and fuel up in Girdwood, Cooper Landing, or Seward before heading to town. There is a small market here, so if you forget an essential, you'll be able to purchase ice, water, beer, snacks, etc. Here in town.

This is such a cool property! The cabin was cozy and warm on some very cold nights. It’s a short walk from parking and to the lake super convenient location to truly experience this part of Alaska, hole still being a short drive (across a frozen lake!) from the small town of Big Lake and about 30 min from Wasilla for restaurants, groceries, and some incredible local breweries and pizza! Amelya and her family are super welcoming and have carved out an incredible place here. While it is hard off the grid, they’ve maintained a very homey, familial feeling that’s something you can’t just manufacture. The scenery is beautiful and the Northern Lights made an appearance. Amelya and her husband Wyatt (and even their two cool sons) were super responsive and just a short walk away, willing to help out with any needs during the stay and great suggestions for activities and food. We were even included in a NYE celebration bonfire on the lake! Can’t wait to return to Alaska and will definitely be staying here if available!!!

Nice large field, we had no issue with our big rig getting in and out. The views were amazing, neighborhood felt safe, and the atmosphere was peaceful. Access to propane, water, laundry, and groceries is just a few minutes down the road. All of that with a price you can't beat, my family and I will be back again!

We absolutely love this place. Love the serenity and privacy. The host is top-notch and provides for every need. We are returning guests and this is by far our favorite place to camp. I hope future guests will respect the land and be good stewards, pick up your trash, pick up after your pets, leave it as clean or cleaner than you found it. Such a gem of a property!! Very thoughtful accommodations, clean, quiet and private. There's plenty of space to spread out, and the river was so clear and peaceful. Kiddos had a blast exploring the trails, river, and picking wild berries. The fire pit cranks!! Nice and toasty and the pavilion is such a charming and well apprecited addition. We definitely recommend and hope to return soon! Kris was very responsive and helpful. Lovely host!! I hope future renters are respectful to the property and leave it nice and clean so others can continue to enjoy!

Where to go
Chugach State Park
The largest state park in the United States nearly borders the city of Anchorage. At more than a half million acres, this park is more akin to an expansive wilderness area. Access is possible from a number of different towns with Anchorage being one of them. The Eagle River Valley is nearby for fishing and recreation in the river corridor. Or, head to the Glen Alps trailhead for an overlook and hike that offers expansive views.
Drive to Denali National Park
The park is a four drive from Anchorage with no shortage of fun between the city and entrance. Willow and Talkeetna are both adventure hubs with chances to catch salmon, take flightseeing tours and to hike and enjoy the surrounding forests. When you reach Denali National Park, consider hiking to really penetrate the interior. Shuttles are available on the main road or you can walk/bicycle along the route. Rafting trips are also available just outside the park.
Visit the Kenai Peninsula
Just to the south of Anchorage is the Kenai Peninsula where exceptional rivers and coastal access awaits visitors. The Kenai River is world renowned for rafting and it has impressive salmon runs during the summer. The rainbow trout reach giant sizes from feeding on salmon eggs and flesh here. Whitewater rafting through the rapids is a great way to experience the Kenai or you can head to the coast for a boat ride and fishing trip in the Cook Inlet.
Book a Fly Out Trip
One major advantage of visiting Anchorage is access to fly out operations. Many companies fly from Anchorage to remote locations in the interior. You can book a day trip for flight seeing or plan a more involved trip with a flyout dropoff and pickup. These true wilderness experiences require that you pack everything needed to camp, cook and navigate between the plane ride out and pickup. Some flyout trips will drop off at rental cabins and lodges as well.
When to go
With an urban center that offers dining and lodging, Anchorage is a year-round destination. Winter is ideal for viewing the northern lights and quiet snowy landscape. Dog mushing races also draw winter visitors from around the globe. Summer is ideal for hiking, fishing and visiting the many parks in the region. Everything is open and accessible during June, July and August. The fall is also excellent for avoiding the crowds and is especially enticing for hunters chasing moose, sheep and other big game in the region. The international airport operates daily flights, and there really isn’t a bad time to experience Anchorage.
