3 nights at Valdez Adventure Alliance

Site 7 was flat and next to the river. Place was clean. About 25 miles out of Valdez, but the ride was quick and in the morning we saw a bear run across the road right by the KOA campground. We think the bear had just finished his breakfast.

It’s kinda tough to tell how great this campground is because the more people that know how great it is, the harder it will be for us to get our favorite spot. But, truly, this campground is great! It’s secluded with incredible views! You can fish at the lake, takes hikes, or just relax!

We booked site #5 & site #6 with our friends. We were "greeted" by a moose right next to the the site in the creek, watched an eagle in this unbelievable beautiful landscape. What a dramatic place here ... highly recommend to any nature loving person ,..

Weekend Trip to The Raven's Den of the Chugach

Amazing campsite! Beautiful mountain views, a nice firepit with some logs to sit on, and a picnic bench! Also, NICEST outhouse I’ve ever seen!! So clean, great cross-ventilation (= NO smell!!), and a great view of the trees! There is some road noise but the nearby river and birds make it hardly noticeable.

This spot is amazing! So private and cozy. The views are awesome and the outhouse is super convenient and well thought out. We will definitely be coming back!

Once run by the state but is now managed by VAA. The beautiful Blueberry Lake campground on Thompson Pass has spectacular 360-degree mountain views. 21 sites are available (1-17 on a paved loop road) near the lake. Vault toilets and a water pump are available for use. Several sites work well as group camping sites. There are no RV hookups or pull-throughs. Pets and generators are allowed. Bring your own firewood. The McAllister cabin, at the mouth of Shoup Bay Marine State Park, is best accessed by kayak or boat. There is a narrow, tide dependent channel that leads to the inner lagoon where Moraine and Kittiwake cabins are located. Kayaks recommended for access.

Snow capped and glaciated mountains with active waterfalls surround this quaint valley known as the "Serendipity Homestead." Google search Mt. Billy Mitchell, Alaska, and you'll see what your campsite view will be, as this location is literally at the base of this gorgeous mountain. 2 rivers, the Tsina and Tiekel, and Stewart Creek (All glacially fed...) converge in this valley. Listen to the waterfalls cascading from the Mt. Billy Mitchell Glacier, or rapids of the 3 waterways, as you doze off to sleep. Thanks, Host, Robb Maris
